The most advanced developer milestone of Google Chrome is still not in tune with the latest iteration of the Windows client from Microsoft. While rival browser makers such as Opera and Mozilla have labored to adapt their products to Windows 7, at over three months since the platform became generally available, and after half a year since it was released to manufacturing, Google is choosing to ignore the operating system when it comes down to features specific of its GUI evolution. At the end of the past week, the Mountain View-based search giant made available Google Chrome 5.0.307.1, a release that does little to tailor the browser to Windows 7.

Last I checked, by default, Firefox 3.6 doesn't have thumbnail preview enabled by default, and when you do enable it, its riddled with bugs (thus being disabled by default).

Also its a dev version, is the first 5.x.xxx.x build so far, cut them some slack. Do people expect every feature to be there in the first build?

It's obviously someone who has an axe to grind and a page to fill.

Considering the two mentioned browsers have many many years experience running on a windows based os they actually seem to be light years away and are still stuck in the xp era.

I think it's a case of the green eyed monster.

I dont understand the statement they're trying to make. Looks ok to me in Windows 7 with its jumplists. Its no different really from how version 4 interacts with Windows 7. as RST101 says this is a POV article.

I think it's referring to having say three thumbnail previews if you have three tabs open, where as now we only get one thumbnail for x amount of tabs open.

No big deal.......

The headline is a bit sensational though.

Completely agree, Chrome works horribly on my Windows 7 Ultimate system... Firefox, IE and Opera all work great. It takes maybe 30 seconds for Chrome to open the same page that takes the other three aforementioned browsers 5 seconds.

This goes for both my desktop and laptop (both of which use Win 7 Ultimate)

When was the last time you tried it, that gave you that result? Doesn't sound like a current problem, I saw many with speed issues when it first came out but after Chrome 3 it was for the most part, a non-existent issue. ;)

I always use the latest Dev versions, never had a problem with them (a hiccup here and there but nothing major). The dev versions tend to be faster then the stable versions for some reason. :s
