Icons on my desktop? I've tried renaming them things like ', `, ., and ~, to make the text insignificant but I'd like to remove the text altogether.

I remember being able to do this by using unprintable characters (they would render as invisible), but I can't recall exactly which ones. I'm looking on Google for you.
