I have an HP DV9000t c. 2005 which I have upgraded to Win7. It seems to work fine, but there are two items that both show up in the Device Manager as "Base System Device" with missing drivers. HP says they don't have Win7 drivers for this notebook, and so far I have not been able to find any drivers for these two components. As I said, the notebook seems to be working fine, and I have not noticed any "built-in" components not functioning because of the missing drivers.

Any one have any idea where I can find the missing drivers? Thinking it may be something within the Intel chipset, I tried the driver set from the http://www.sevenforums.com/drivers/23909-latest-intel-chipset-drivers-windows-7-a.html thread... but the missing driver issue persists.

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Thanks, Fabe.

Here is the information from the Device Manager:

First instance:

PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0592&SUBSYS_30BB103C&REV_0A
PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0592&SUBSYS_30BB103C
PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0592&CC_088000
PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0592&CC_0880

Second instance:

PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&SUBSYS_30BB103C&REV_01
PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&SUBSYS_30BB103C
PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&CC_088000
PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&CC_0880

I need the drivers for the 32-bit version of Win7.

BTW, the drivers for the speakers, microphone, webcam and SD card reader are installed and those devices appear to be working properly. I tested the speakers, mic and webcam with Google chat, and I was able to read/write to an SD card in the card reader.

Just wanted to say THANKS! to Fabe and the rest who offered assistance. Despite the fact that I could read and write data from/to the SD card reader, I got the 32-bit Vista drivers for the Ricoh card reader and installed them. The Device Manager no longer reports an error...

For the record, THIS PLACE ROCKS!

One new question: has anyone located the software for the Quick Launch and on-screen display for volume/mute, etc for HP dv9000t? The 32-bit Vista QL utility throws all kinds of warnings and errors under 32-bit Win 7

Hank

Yes. I tried running them as 32-bit Vista SP2 and got the warnings that they were known to cause "compatibiliy issues".

UPDATE:
I just realized that I ran the install in compatibility mode... but not the actual software post-install. Changed the properties on the QLBCTRL.exe to run it in Vista compatibility mode... now the program launches without warnings, but it doesn't appear to work, either. *sigh* what a pain :(

Thanks, Fabe. It looks like you were posting when I was updating my post... here's the current status:

... and I do appreciate your help here.

one is the chipset, im not sure what the other is i never figured that out before my dv6 series laptop went belly up. yes the components for dv6 and 9 series are the same, the difference is in screen size and an additional drive bay.
