IE9 confirmed for March 2010

Haha, google it mate, IE is such a sucky browser they lost 8% or so during the past 10 months off their Web Browsing share cuzz of Trojans and Spyware programs accessings through security breechers, it is still many many many off those, google it mate...

Are you just here to insult every browser aside from Opera?

Nah, but I insult sucky browsers like IE, which actually got some many security holes, over 7% off their users has left since march off 2009, Same with MSE, which is a state of the art scamm

In fairness, MSE and IE are pretty good and I'm sure IE9 will be a lot better.

Every post I've seen you make so far is negative in some way. I think you need to be more positive.

Anyways, MSE has caught anything thats every tried to get on my system. If it hasn't then its something that I haven't noticed. I use the ongoing beta builds of MSE which are slightly faster at scanning then the public release.

Well, The only negative I have to say is about those stupid reccomendation of retard programs who dont work. OR IE and MSE, if you want to determine if your spyware free run Malware byte, MSEs anti malware system thingy isnt working.

But I have some possitive things to say, but what irritates me is people reccomending programs eg. To be put at the list over good programs which dont work. or is very bad xD

If they fix the slow initial start up page load - I might switch. The only issue for me is the browser opening fine and then taking 10 seconds or so to find Google. At least it will be hardware accelerated and x64 compatible - beat that Firefox.

Will IE9 feature Direct2D?

Last I heard, Microsoft was working on a version of IE with Direct2D support, but I can't remember if it was IE9 or some other version down the road.

I will only consider moving out of Google Chrome when the first GPU-accelerated browser comes out.

Cool , new browser cant be bad ...well so long as it works :)

IE8 has protected mode support, which makes it far more secure than Firefox. MSE is also the best free anti-virus at the moment. I hope IE9 will increase support for plugins.

I might consider using IE for something other than downloading firefox and getting downloads from the microsoft website if MS can make it perform as quickly. It shouldn't be that hard to do, after all, MS IE developers have an advantage that none of the developers the 3rd party browsers have.. the ability to fully integrate IE with the OS without having to do any reverse engineering.

I agree with you that performance should be the focus with IE9. Microsoft focused on security with IE8 and produced arguably the most secure browser. If they concentrate on performance it shouldn't be too hard to pull it off also.

If IE9 can allow you to scroll through web pages with tons of text and pictures without a hiccup because of GPU acceleration (meaning low CPU utilization), that will be the main persuader of switching from Chromium.

IEs JavaScript performance really sucks right now and if they can improve the perf. of this by an order of magnitude it will be much more enjoyable to use apps like facebook, google docs, and my school's website. IE has arguably better security, better printing support, and better domain deployment/integration/manageability, so its still going to have some niche in the market.

I will probably still be using Chrome since IE probably won't add support for HTML5 audio/canvas/video, CSS Transformations, WebGL, SVG, or NativeClient.

Well, I should be allowed to express my poor experiences with these programs

But here is some Possitive
-MSE searchs very deep and in a test done by hardware.no It scanned 150 thousand objects (avg did 75 thousand)
-MSE works good with Windows, it consumes only 4 MB!!!!, so its one off the lightest
-It has an inbuilt anti spyware and is able to safely protect you against these threats, (But not 100%)

I doubt IE will beat chromium in terms of security and speed, if IE becomes successful with their GPU accell, I bet chromium will do the same, IE also have a really bad reputation atm :D, but if they remove the poor old black colour, get some nice UI like Opera or Chromium (Not like firefox) I would sure consider switching.

Pure LIE, IE 8 has never been close to the worlds most secure Browser, it has soo many security holes yet to be discovered and Firefox, Chrome is both way more secure.

But for the sake off fairness IE aint that bad
-It got speed which did beat firefox in some areas
-It is very compatible with Windows
-It is constantely being updatd (ofc due to security issues), but this is very possitive and shows progress are being made

well, its mostly IE holes get more publicized since 60% of people are using it :) also because of same fact (60% of users are using it), more bugs gets discovered. Why would "hacker" (the one that does harm to people), try to target 10% of users, when they can target 60% of them? In browsers that are not IE, more or less only security researchers are finding bugs, while in IE you have whole big of pool of "hackers" working as well.
