I never had the chance to play BC2 beta and was looking for peoples views on the game and is it worth a buy in March. How does it compare in gameplay to BF2 and will it be the nail in the coffin for MW2?

it's not bad, it supports 3d if you have the hardware for it as well as private servers. i dont think it will kill MW2, FPS games tend to have long life spans, when a new ones gains a lot of popularity as MW2 has the players tend to stick with it instead of jumping from title to title.

it's not bad, needs some improvements, personally i'm buying it. and you can't compare mw2 to bc2 because they're kind of different.

Really doubt it.

Hardcore Call Of Duty fans will most definitely hate BFBC2, since it's very team-work oriented, and there's some degree of strategy involved lol.

From a technical point of view, it's no contest, BFBC2 looks better, sounds better and just plays better.

The folks over at DICE have done a wonderful job with the first PC Frostbite engine (although I gotta admit I was expecting more DX11 stuff, not just some shaders/soft shadows).

EDIT: Btw, how cool is this TV spot?:

actually I play COD4/5 and after playing the beta for a month I can say I love the game and am gripping after EA shut down the beta servers...oh well, I just got my shipping confirmation from EA after preordering to get the beta key...I agree it just plays better - squading up and spawning on team members and destroying buildings. I just wonder if stats will carry over but doubt it...

IMO, it's pretty frustrating. I'm not new to Battlefield games, but ever since BF2142, I lost interest. My opinion probably won't matter :).

Does me saying I am picking it up at 10 AM on Tuesday morning mean anything. :)

Only thing is I have a feeling I'll be grabbing a quad somewhere down the line. This will be the first game for me that makes my poor old x2 not really keep up.

I understand that MW2 and BC2 can't compare game wise. I prefer squad based gaming anyway. But I know than FPS PC clans are looking for a good FPS that has dedi server support where we can once again have server control, match, and not have to worry about lag.

I'm very excited, even though it's a console port. Seems this game has generated a lot of interest from a lot of old school 1942 clans over at TWL. It's only too bad CAL isn't running a league for it.

I don't see that happening. CAL is dead. Someone bought it last year then closed down the site. They were supposed to open it back up... but so far, and it's been over a year, nothing.

This is what we get now: CPL??? Funny... I didn't think they spoke Chinese down in Texas?

Yup.

The BETA was very CPU hungry (most ports are anyways), although it is my understanding that they worked on that for the retail version.

Most of the times I was getting between 30-40 FPS (on 32 player servers) @ 1600 x 900 no AA, AF at x8, with everything on High (high was not really high anyways). Very playable framerates IMO.

EDIT: Btw, I really did not see any performance improvements with the 3rd client (R3), the one that was supposed to work wonders for Dual Cores users. Did you?

Maybe a few FPS up on the high end, but not much if any improvement when there was lots of smoke and explosions. Going to wait and see how it goes with the retail, and if necessary have my eye on a nice little x4 925. Been wanting a quad for a while and this may just be the thing to push me to it.

I have been playing it since it was released. The SP mode is very short and you need to be into MP. I really like it especially the way the dynamics of the maps change as you destroy buildings. I am not one that sticks with a game long but this must be the longest I have played a game
