In device manager do you have any devices with a yellow triangle next to it? If so try windows update, or right click on it, properties>details tab>drop down menu>hardware id snip it and post the code and we'll see about getting a driver for it. Fabe

Please go to your user cp and select a country flag it will help us know that your located in Australia and make it easier to look for a driver. Thanks.

Also in this thread a member used a Vista 64 bit driver for a Ricoh camera to fix his issue with his Sony web cam but didn't link us to it so I'm looking. http://www.sevenforums.com/drivers/72307-webcam-not-working-after-win7-x64-install-sony-vaio.html

You can also scroll down on any thread you create and find similar threads that if green check marked are solved and the others can offer you some more suggestions. While I search. So far the only driver for you web cam is an XP 32 bit driver so we'll have to try several other 64bit drivers in hopes one will work since on the Australia site it doesn't even tell you the maker of the cam.
Fabe

You can try this one in Vista compatibility mode http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.html

I scanned it with MSE no threats found. View attachment RIDCAM-14566600-US.zip
No guaranties but might be worth a try.

I have a similar problem, I have a Sony Vaio VGN-SZ330P Laptop, I installed Win 7 a few months ago and have had trouble with the web cam ever since. Somehow the Microphone above the screen is on at FULL Level and creates a nasty feedback. Quick fix was to plug in 3.5mm cord into the jack.
I have tried all settings to adjust the microphone, but it will not quit. I can not find the settings to get into the web camera and I am assuming it is a driver issue as the Sony site still does not list this model as compatible for Win 7. I tried the Vista driver, but no difference...
Any chance of correcting this?

Device Manager shows all is well and working properly.

Hi, any news about the driver for the VCC2 ?
I have a SZ340P, and the device ids are:
USB\VID_05CA&PID_1830&REV_0100
USB\VID_05CA&PID_1830

I tried all and every driver available online, but none of them work. I also tried to extract driver from installer that only worked on Vista or XP compatibility mode but no luck.

Any hint would be greatly appreciated.

Solution

I believe I have found the solution after a lot of googling.

I have a sony vaio VGN SZ32GP. I did a clean install. Windows 7 Ultimate.

Sony VGN-SZ Notebook Visual Communication Camera VGP-VCC2 Driver 1.0.2.9 - Windows 2000/XP 32bit Download | Sony

I downloaded XP drivers from the link above.
I then right clicked on the downloaded file, selected properties, under the compatibility tab I chose "Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP (SP2)"

I checked on "Run this program as an administrator" as well. Afters I ran the .exe installation file.

Moments later under Device Manager, there was an "Imaging Devices" section, and within that" Sony Visual Communication Camera VGP-VCC2".

Tested on Skype. I downloaded ArcSoft Web Cam Companion 2 as well.
=============================
Hope this helps and applies to old Sony Vaio VGN-SZ32 Series notebooks.

Hi, thanks for posting. I had already tried that driver, but cant install it on my 64bit, since it is a 32bit driver.
