If what I think you mean is that you can't view webpages in Explorer or firefox it probably means your internet connection wasn't working. What do you mean, "You open lots of files in Firefox" What files are they?

It's hard to know whether that is just a problem with Firefox not sending the right info to Explorer - or a problem in Explorer itself.

You could try this test:
Download a file with Internet Explorer instead of with Firefox. Watch IE's download dialog box. When the download in IE finishes, click the button which says "open folder" (not the button which just says "open").

Please tell us if that is broken too. That will tell us if it's a Firefox problem or a Windows Explorer problem.

Where do the folders that you are downloading come from. Can you post the URL so we can try the download. What sort of files are they , data, audio, video or what. What file extensions do they have.

So I gather this is not just a problem with downloaded files as you originally stated but all files on your PC? Is that correct? If so please click on "Start" then "Pictures" then double click on the "Samples" folder then double click any one of the jpegs shown. Does it open?

yes it opens..

the problem is to find the path to the file i downloaded or via ff or vuze.. or what ever it will not show path to the file if i clikc open location <.>. so i can copy the file to a place where i have more space or just to save it

This may be caused by a problem with Windows not letting you access the folder you are saving your downloads into, because of ownership maybe.

So I suggest you create a new folder for your downloads, outside of any user folders, such as C:\down

Then in Firefox, click the Tools menu > Options
On the first tab in Options, there is a downloads section.
You could set it to always save downloads into your new folder C:\down
Then "open containing folder" will probably work in Firefox, because you own this new folder.
Even if "open containing folder" still doesn't work after this change to Options, you will be able to find them easily by using Windows Explorer.

OK If the folder in question is still showing on your desktop then right click on it open Properties and see if the folder is a "shortcut". Either way the folder MUST have a name even if it is called "New folder" and opening Properties will reveal the path to the folder and any files it contains. Navigate the path using the "Computer" command on Start.

Cold are you the only user on your system?
If you are try this:

Open up command prompt, right click/ run as admin.
Type the following/ hit enter.

TAKEOWN /A /F C:

Then do the same for this one.

TAKEOWN /F C:

This will give admin/account full permissions to ALL files in the C: drive.
If you need to do this to another drive, just replace "C:" with your root letter of other drive.
