Hey,

Does anyone know of an app that can be used for cleaning the desktop? I would to be able to highlight the files I want to place into a folder (Desktop Archive) and in one click have the files move into the folder off of the desktop. Can this be done with the desktop cleanup wizard? Forgive me is this is a simple question.

Have you tried 'send to' --> in the dropdown menu? You can also use the 'drag and drop' method too.

You can right click on the desktop, click on view, and then click on the last entry, Show desktop items, which remove or replace what ever items you have on the desktop.

I am aware of those options... However, I want the files to disappear. I do a lot of web development and programming and during an iteration my desktop gets extremely cluttered, but I can't delete the files because I may need them in the future. Any other suggestions?

Ideally I would highlight all of the files I created and right click or execute a key combination to move them to c:\development\<date>\*.* and at the same time move them off of the desktop.

Is it possible to have the files created in another folder instead of the desktop? For example, instead of moving them to c:\development\<date>\, why not create them there in the first place and have a shortcut to that folder on your desktop?

Dully noted... But that would simply be too easy
