I am having intermittent issues with my new laptop. I have e-mailed HP and they will "fix" it....but it would take 2 weeks and if it does not happen while they have it....I'm afraid it will not be fixed. Would an HP tech just turn it on, see that it seems to work fine at the time, and send it back? I have already tried ALL drivers, prevented overheating, and cleaned all air intake. What would you do? This happens about once every two days or so. I have to restart and it's gone..

Nate, knowing a bit about HP's service practices I would recommend you to print that pic and send / give it with the laptop taped on its cover. Keep a copy to yourself, too, so when they call to tell you there's nothing wrong you can in worst case fax them a copy.

Let's hope they'll fix it!

I would just like to offer a suggestion that you make sure and let them know that the system has to be run for sometime for this to occur. So maybe they will take the time to run it long enough to reproduce the issue. Plus it is a great idea suggested by Kari to send a picture of the screen along with detailed explination of how long it takes at times to occur. Fabe

Very good ideas. I WILL send the picture with the laptop. I didn't even think of that! ALso, since my warranty is good for 10 more months....I wonder if there is ANY way this is a driver issue. It sure looks like hardware to me, but I don't know for SURE. Maybe I should wait. I have had it on ALL day playing HD video trying to make it happen. It HAS NOT happened today. Unbelievable. Thanks for the suggestions.
