A True x64 Protection Suite :o ?

Great poster, if you find this program please post it. It would be nice to see what this program is after all this debate. The best I can do is Superantispyware, but I dont think it is 64x sorry..... (it does do auto update daily, rootkit detection complete scanning, realtime blocking and lots of other things.) (dont know about phishing/pharming though)

I'm sorry. But I've been reading this thread and the OP just seems to be a pain.

What difference does it make if the software is x64 native or compatible? An x64 software is not going to stop more threats than a x64 compatible one.

Forgive me, but stop being a pain in the ass. Enough solutions have been provided here.

For your kind information, you must know that any x32 software running in x64 environment needs to pass an additional layer, which though thin, adds up a 5% performance degradation. And x32 can't make use of more than 3.5 GB RAM.

I've got Mc Afee by now and it is both installed in x86 folder and x64 folder, the same in common files folder...so i do beleive it pass layer on both system x86 & for my native x64 Win7.

I did tried MSE ,but got probs with the engine. It was taking me more ressources on everydays run than Mc Afee running... Only, McAfee is near screwing up at 60% to 100% cpu only when doing full disk check, the rest is just perfect running and fully enjoyable.

You are asking way to much from an AV. If i was asking for that much id throw pfsense on a spare box, or invest in a hardware firewall and call it a day

since when do computers protect you credit card info when its stored in the vendors database?!?!?!?

Run your x64 OS and install your x86 software. I guarantee you that you won't be able to tell the difference.

Not all software on my pc run as soon as I turn it on. Not all software on my pc protect my credit card details.
Not all software that are x86 can protect and integrate with the kernel patch protection in x64.
It is also that not all software vendors require to read the Norton white papers on kernal patch protection.

WRT kernel patching. That is a feature already integrated into the x64 OS. It has nothing to do with your anti virus software.

Mislead Again. Kernel Patching can be easily exploited, thanks to the Norton Whitepapers. Previously Microsoft did not allow security vendors to access kernel. Only after Norton's research, that MS via secure software chanelling, gave them access. Hope, I cleared a lot of your query. KPC in x64 is NOT AT ALL SAFE, it is more Unsafe.

Because it is not true 64x. Its main stuff is 32x and that is run through a layer which slows the computer down a little. Great Poster is looking for an AV that is full native 64x, has daily autoupdate, has phishing protection, pharming protection, rootkit protection.

Everything that everyone has suggested has been shot down because it is missing one of those requirements and I probably forgot one in my list as well.

most likely because he's not looking for a AV but a security suite
AV will not give those protections
but i would still say MSE (AV + Malware + Rootkit + full x64) MalwareBytes (Another Layer of Protection) Router Coupled with a Alternative DNS (Open Dns which offers anti-phishing and pharming protection, if it has a alternative firmware such as DD-WRT even better) and win firewall (firewall protection)

its much better to rely not just on one company/organization....

also the most important parts (not the gui) are not running in 32 bit
such as the service and the kernel driver are all x64...
meaning the protection applies to x64 too
and there should not be a slowdown because just the GUI is x32....

Ah sorry my bad for terminology. I am currently running MSE, but I call all AV stuff AV and wasn't thinking of the term. I am going to look into the setup you just posted though. I know just MSE is not enough.

There's basics tweaks in registry like, NoLmHash set to 1, restrictanonymous set to 1 or 2, NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdate set to 1, SynAttackProtect set to 1, DontDisplayLastUserName set to 1 and so on...that could help the AV enforcement?!?

This, plus UAC enable...and MSE or payable Security Suite....why be so paranoid?

I'm not afraid to pay with credit card over the net.

As some of you already said, anyway the credit card is most of the times registred to retaillers unless you are allowed to delete it.

After, it is just the question of the customer manners...

I also almost forgot routers can be some good firewalls sometimes, dropping ports is not the best but should do it.

Thanks Thorsen, you really caught with the main point of my idea. ATLAST I HAVE FOUND ONE.
It's the new avatar of Alwil Avast, known as Avast Internet Security. It's also native x64. But I will keep this thread going on and valuable inputs coming.
