GUI Screwed Up + Host of Other Issues

Hey!
So I've been using Win7 for a while and it's been great. But something happened and it's all screwy now. The GUI seems like a Win2000 downgrade, took a couple of pics

A bunch of other stuff that screwed up along with the GUI:

• Audio - Hardware changes might not have been detected
• Aero Peek (disabled on Taskbar & Start Menu Properties)
• System Restore - A Volume Shadow Copy Service component encountered an unexpected error. Check the Application event log for more information (hex memory address)
• Turn Windows features on or off - Nothing shows
• Windows Installer/Uninstaller - The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed...[contact admin blah blah]
• Antivirus- Panda Antivirus, Microsoft Security Essentials have been disabled and cannot be renabled.

Yea, so I'll update the list as I find out more about any problems and issues. And thanks for any help at all in advance.

For starters your aero does not work. But then you seem to have more system functions that are defunct. Run sfc /scannow in elevated command prompt and see whether some can be fixed.

Now that is pretty bad. You should start to aquaint yourself with a reinstall - unless you can pull in an image or an early restore point - the latter may not work either though.

Sure looks like you are looking at a reinstall but first try MalwareByte's anti-malware.

Yea, System Restore doesn't work and I didn't create a ghost image (stupid in hindsight). Does Win7 have a repair feature? I put in the install disk but it said something about not finding Drive information.
I guess formatting and reinstalling is going to be the most likely solution : (

Not at all. Just stating the facts. I'm pretty sure that it was another user messing with the Control Panel or registry maybe : \

Surprisingly the installation worked! (Uninstalling doesn't so I just assumed). A quick scan revealed no infected files or anything. Running the full now.

I would reinstall cleanly 7, and prevent anyone from using the system. Use the setting up 7 guide in my sig if you do.

1. WIN key (that's the one with the funny looking wavy flag on it)
2. type CMD.EXE -- DO NOT HIT THE ENTER KEY!!
3. CMD.EXE will appear in that blank area above the search box.

5. Click on "Run as administrator" in the list which appears
6. Now you should be at a command prompt

lol, I ran it as an administrator and what I posted was the error I got.

But thanks for the help guys, I just ended up doing a clean reinstall.
