Recurring BSOD on Windows 7 Pro

Hi,

Ever since I bought Windows 7 Pro I've been getting rare occurences of the BSOD, but in less than the last 24 hours I've experienced at least 5 separate BSOD cases, including:

a) 2 while trying to stream videos online, each time through different players on the same website, crashing at a point in the video now more than 2 minutes apart. I watched the video on my Mac laptop only minutes later, and no crash occured on it.

b) While playing a new PC game (Dawn of War 2 Chaos Rising), the game crashed mid-mission, despite having already played a mission earlier, and having completed the same mission only days ago.

c) 2 times while listening to music on my iTunes. The first, while I was listening to one song, the sound went funny (the same as it would when BSOD occurs), and I shut down iTunes. I opened it up a few minutes later, started the same song, and BSOD happened after almost as much time as the previous playing. Then I started my iTunes several hours later, and it happened on a completely different song.

Please help, I've even tried re-installing Windows 7 (using Upgrade option), but some error occured while I was away from the computer and the installation was cancelled.

Also, tried a few online fixes, seems to have calmed down a little, but still got a BSOD while installing a program. It had less text on the screen itself, which I thought was significant for any fixes people might be able to give me.

Can't anyone help, I've been trying all day to find someone to help with this. I've tried a few things following problems others have had, but I'm still getting the occasional BSOD (it's showing up less though).

theres a variety of buchecks returned from running windows debugger which suggests RAM as the error here

To test memory I get consistent results by burning to CD (using an ISO burner) & running from boot memtest86+ for at least 5 passes and moving the sticks between slots to verify motherboard ram slots work as well as the ram sticks.

I'm no expert at this but I'll have a go. From the looks of this it seams you have upgraded your PC to Windows 7 Pro x64.
I have several questions.
What operating System was your PC previously running?
Was that OS x86 or x64?
Do you have the correct x64 drivers for your PC?
Have you checked for registry errors recently?
Why have you installed Windows 7 Pro x64 when you only have 4GB of RAM? (most people on this forum do not recommend x64 unless you have 6GB or more of RAM)

It was previously running XP Pro (32bit), but did a free install with Windows 7 because I had to (and that was on the day Windows 7 was released in stores, so a while ago).
I have been updating drivers all day, although a BSOD did occur at least once while doing this.
Also downloaded a Registry Cleaner today and ran it, fixed over 600 errors (ouch).
And was running x64 with Windows 7 so I could play certain games (specifically Crysis and newer games) on maximum settings, which was disabled on my 32bit XP.

Hope this helps.

For now, though, I'm backing up personal files in case I need to do a whole new reinstall, and will be talking to the company I got this PC through tomorrow about the RAM if it is the problem, seeing as the PC is less than 1 year old and certainly within the warranty period.

That sounds like a good idea to contact the manufacturer although with 600 registry errors fixed your BSODs should at least start to become less frequent.
Just so you know what the 3 icons to the top right of every post do I will explain them now.

If you hover over the little orange (+) you can find out if the person who's post it relates to is online.

The middle icon (which I think is support to be some silver scales) is used to give people who have helped you and/or solved your problems rep points (rep points earn badges and those little green dots by posts).

The final triangle with red border and black line in it is used to alert an Admin to either abusive comments or to mark a thread as solved.
