Asus G50Vt-X5 wont boot win 7 beeps rapidly

So my computer was running fine until i turned it off. then later when i turned it back on it went through the computers boot logo(not part of any os, will do this even without a hard drive installed) then it loaded what looked like command prompt in full screen with the blinking white "_" cursor then the cursor moved down as if someone hit enter and it starts beeping rapidly non stop. The beeps are all the same ( ive heard of beep codes and ive heard them and this isnt it) it beeps forever until i turn it off. Also on a different hard drive in the same computer i have vista installed and that works perfectly. But back to the windows 7, i tried it with one ram (one of each) and without any both rams are fine because i did the same with the rams while trying to boot into vista and vista booted every time. There fore this leads me to believe that the hard drive is causing this problem so maybe something is wrong with the windows 7 hard drive/partition. All help is appreciated.

It does sound like a hard drive or other hardware problem.

During the Power On Self Test (POST), does it give you any warnings?

Can you take the hard drive to another machine and test it with one of these programs? Hard Drive Diagnostics Tools and Utilities (Storage) - TACKtech Corp.

Also on a different hard drive in the same computer i have vista installed and that works perfectly. A rapid constant beeping from the Award BIOS ususally indicates a memory issue.


Some questions for you...

1. Have you been inside this laptop adding or removing any components? If so, make sure any RAM is properly seated, HDD's, etc.
2. Were you "playing" with settings in the BIOS at any time? If so, go into BIOS and set to defaults.
3. Any spills on or near this laptop.
4. Has it been dropped?

All right i ran all the available tests and it passed every single one. I have no idea what could be causing this to happen.

What happens when you try to boot from the CD?

Try disconnecting the hard drive, and set the BIOS to boot from the CD first.

So... let me ask... You had this issue and when troubleshooting you plugged in the old HDD and it booted into Win Vista, is that correct? OR?

As Jonathan stated, you may need to repair or reinstall Win7.

I dont have a windows 7 CD so i cannot repair or boot off the cd.
Also, maybe i didnt make this clear my computer has two hard drive bays. So both hard drives are in the computer at the same time. Hopefully that helps.

Also, not sure if this changes anything but i had recently had a problem that required me to delete the recovery partition on the windows 7 hard drive.

yet another update, before this started happening i deleted some files in c:
the files were:
g50.bin
KQ21.txt
Recovery.dat
setup.log
bootsect.bak
and maybe some others.

I dont know how to get those back or if they are even causing the problem but maybe that helps.

Alright i followed instructions, repair disk didnt work. The start up repair told me that there was a usb device attached that was making it not work but there werent any. So i did a system restore...didnt help. thanks for the help but back to the drawing board i guess.
