Hey guys, I posted this thread before,
http://www.sevenforums.com/gaming/58195-empire-total-war-rebooting-pc.html

Sadly, it is still happening. After getting an extra 4GB of Kingston Ram and updating all my drivers, the game still crashes.

It is getting really fustrating...really. Never use to do this in Windows XP.

Any suggestions?

first we can help you a lot more if you upload the actual dmp file. use these to find and upload it to us. http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-lockup-debug-how/34900-1-novice-how-ask-help-bsod-problem.html

thanks

Could it be over heating? Since you said it does it while playing games

Check your temperatures. Sounds like something is overheating, causing a BIOS shutdown.

hmmm maybe. But it only happens in Empire Total War. Although my brother was playing Call of Duty MW2 and he said it had randomly rebooted while he was playing (it has never happened to me and it was the only time it happened to him)

Ok so...I have stock fans so yes it could be overheating.

Though how can i display the temp's while I'm playing a game?

Cheers

You can use RealTemp for CPU temperatures, and MSI afterburner for your GPU. Or GPUz

With Gpu-Z , make sure you tick the Log to file Option

In Realtemp > settings tick the Log File

Otherwise, you won't have a record, or idea, what the temps were after a crash.

Or if you have a multi monitor setup, open and display them on the second screen.

Experienced a similar overheating problem running GRAW2 with the previous cooling sink/fan. You can try speedfan. I think you have two choices.
1) Clean out all your dust gremlins, add another 120 exhaust fan is you can't crank up the sink's rpm's.
2) Buy/Install a better heatsink/fan.

By the way, if your current sink is stock or not 'gaming' quality then 2x120's probably won't matter.
