Win7 RC1 really coming April 10th!!

this rumor is not true. Build 7105 is the SAME as build 7077. 7105 is the first build of the RTM branch, they artificially increased the build number (probably for milestone / organizational) sake.

Build 7077 is the RC escrow. In case showstopper bugs are found, they will now have room to get to build 7100. In May, the public RC will most likely be build 7100, and the RTM build will be much higher.

What is escrow thoguh.

You can think of it as being put in a holding pen for examination.

It means development stops while they confirm prior bug fixes and ensure no new, dramatic "showstoppers" are discovered. If it clears escrow without a major hitch, it's expected to be the actual release candidate in this case.

It's a bit comparable to the way a home sale goes through an escrow period.

The last official release was the 7000 beta. 7048 was leaked just like the rest of them. At least for the 32 bit I can speak of, they've all worked very well though.

in what paralel universe? There was exactly _ONE_ build officaly released to public and that is build 7000. An no there wont be any offical RC for public tomorrow. Maybe for testers or something (technet maybe? altho i doubt it since they are considered "public" that is paying only), but certanly not for general public. Also real "RC" build was not made yet, so mostly testers can expect is RC-escrow (aka 7077).

Sorry but I am sure that this does not state anything about build 7048 and the only place any of us found it was on torrent sites, can you explain how you managed to get this build anywhere else and how your screen shot proves anything to the contrary.

The last public release of Win 7 was build 7000. Every other version has been a leak, granted a leak of an official build given to TAP customers, integrators or Connect members, but certainly not public releases.

But just so we all know, I can tell you exactly when the RC will be released...













When it is released, no sooner, no later.

so ye they are doing daily win7rc branch builds, noone will see public RC for quiet a while

7077 runs beautifully on my Dell Mini 9. Expires in March 2010 and I will use it until then. RC branding or not, whatever, it works great.

For the most this is what I've digested from it.
-7077 and 7105 for the most part are the same thing
-main difference being that 7077 can be installed as an upgrade from previous beta builds and 7105 would require a clean install
-no idea what RC build will be and any other claims would be pure speculation

any way for information i downloaded it from a site(i will name it if i get permission) through rapidshare--it was not torrent download--it also has a theme like that of ver 7070(so called)--lemon colored leaves...i cant post the screenshot as my lap DVD drive is dead(compaq)...and i gave it for servicing..Why RC1...
