New here, been lurking the forums for about a month. Did some searches...here's my questions:

Preface: I am using Build 7057

1.) I am having frequent hangups, like randomly a program will gray out and i cant even shut down the process or process tree.

2.) So many negative reviews, any advice on 7077?

3.) My G15 Keyboard suddenly stopped allowing me to use my volume/track skip/etc buttons, Ive uninstalled, reinstalled, tried the software...nothing.

4.) Glad to be here!

Believe I'm going to use 2 hardrives and wipe clean, one with xp and one with 7, just wanna know if wiping clean to 7077 is worth it.

First, this is beta software. Always use the latest available. So before we begin get 7077 and do a clean install. Upgrades will often exhibit issues noted.

1) We need a complete list of the software categorized by in-box (came with Windows) or 3rd-party (installed after) Most of the "not responding" stuff is due to "cool" programs that hack the OS.
2) I see nothing but positive reviews and folks with some configuration problems. Go 7077.
3) G15 software is the culprit for #1 above I bet. Wait for them to create some hackware that they support under 7. Until then, clean install 7077 (format the drive!) and do NOT install Logitech hackware for another OS.
4) We're glad you're here too.

------------------------------------------------------

1.) Mostly Firefox, WMP, and applications on USB devices like Share Drive stuff.

2.) I read a nasty thread on here called "Going Back to Windows XP" where people stated 7077 was really bad comparatively, I suppose I'll just check it out, what can it hurt.

3.) The G15 worked fine until two nights ago..randomly stopped working..Don't think it's the software.

4.) Thank you! And thanks for the response!

FWIW - 7077 seems to have minor issues, but anyone who goes back to XP over 7077 is a moron.

For the first time since I built this rig, I am using less than 33% of my RAM at idle and less than 3% CPU cycles at any given moment on any given core.

And I have not installed any drivers except for that of my ScanJet 7400C....

Upgrading to 7077 fixed both problems...interesting. I'm going to look around on the forums and see what else has been figured out about 7077.

Yea XP would definitely be my choice. Vista is a resource hog from hell. Build 7077 is working out really nice! I'm going to buy a new motherboard tonight, it's the only thing holding back my system with a Radeon HD 4870 + 6 Gigs of Ram and an AMD Phenom 9550 Processor, I'll report back on how performance is once I get up and running on what i hope to be a top of the line system!
