Wow, didn't know PB still made computers :)...

Anyway, the best way to connect two monitors is by using DVI or VGA outputs. I don't think S-Video is going to work well for you. That output is for televisions and smaller resolution displays. If you have a 9600 GT there should be two DVI outputs on the back of the card. If your displays don't have DVI inputs, then you can get a DVI to VGA adapter for pretty cheap at any local computer store.

DVI is on top (gold), VGA is on the bottom (blue)

S-Video cannot pass "Plug and Play" information from the monitor back to the computer ... it's for connection to television sets and generally has to be separately enabled, you will also have to set the resolution manually using your video card's setup utilities.

You should be able to connect one monitor on VGA and the other on DVI and have the whole thing auto-detect. I see NotSo has shown you pictures of the adaptors you may need depending on the connections to your monitors.

Thanks again peeps.

Can this be done without having 2 ports at the back of your pc though. As my nvidia 9200 as only one port?

Unless the DVI port for the onboard video is a DVI-D (D for dual) port, then the best you're going to get using a DVI splitter is cloned or mirrored displays.

The computers at work are most likely using a card something like this,

Newegg.com - ATI 100-505139 FireMV 2200 64MB DDR PCI Low Profile Workstation Video Card

that has a DVI-D port, which when used with the included splitter cable can display to two monitors in extended mode.
