Just popped over to the Adobe site and noticed that CS5 is now available in both trial and full versions. I've been playing with a pre-release version of Photoshop CS5 the past few days and am really impressed.

Thanks, I've just reloaded my system and hadn't got around to re-installing Fireworks CS4 yet, I'm just downloading Fireworks CS5 trail now and if I like it I'll buy the upgrade.

My initial thoughts are Fireworks CS5 isn't work the upgrade from CS4, I'll continue using it until the trial expires as my opinion may change when I'm doing something productive with it rather than just playing.

But, seems like the server wont let us have it
Both me and Mark (mr grim) are having problems with the download not starting (download of PS CS5)

EDIT: Seems like it may be a browser related problem
Tried in IE now, and we both downloading it now

What browser did it not work in for you? Worked fine for Google Chrome (latest developers build).

I've been reading several reviews about cs5 with a particular view to system requirements , im still confused, can someone clear it up please , can cs5 be used on a 32 bit system or not? some say it can some say it can't !

I am assuming it can, as there IS a 32-bit version of Photoshop.

My suggestion would be to try installing the trial version of one of the CS5 products, if you can than there you go.

I just installed Master Collection CS5 on my work PC and some of the icons are missing. I don't know if this is simply a problem with Adobe CS5 or whether or not this happens for other programs on Windows 7. Any help would be appreciated.

As you can see, certain programs are missing their icon entirely and this is reflected when the program is open in the taskbar. It doesn't necessarily break anything, but it is an ugly eyesore. I tried reinstalling it once, but it didn't make a difference.

Photoshop CS5 Extended is simply awesome I reviewed it for mintywhite.com yesterday (review will be on MW Monday), and am really loving it, especially the new features Puppet Wrap, Content aware Scale and Content Aware Fill

Is CS5 really worth the upgrade just for the photoshop application -- all the cameras I use work fine with CS4.

I certainly will upgrade if newer features are what I need but CS4 really supplies all my needs -- even for "Pre Press" Professional C-M-Y-K filters etc.

I've got other things to spend my money on at the moment.

Photoshop CS5 have some really awesome new features, especially Content Aware. If you do any graphic designing or lots of work with pictures, I would recommend the upgrade. If you don't, you should be fine keeping CS4.
