Office advice needed have 2003 need 2007

I am using Office 2003 (well mainly outlook 2003. I am starting a collage class which would require me to run 2007. Now the copy of of office 2007 I can get (student) dose not have outlook. So I am unsure what I should do. Can I install 2007 separately from 2003 and return to 2003 after I no longer need it, or should I replace 2003 with the exception of outlook and still use the 2003 outlook?

Did you purchase the student version of Office 2007 yet? Because, you can buy the full ultimo-mega-all-in version of Office for like $60 here (in the States. A little more if you're in Canada) and this comes with all the bells and whistles... All you need is a student email address. I purchased this last year (before the 2010 version came free) and it's great. I only use the main 3 (Excell, Word, Powerpoint) but it was still cheaper than any student version I was able to get.

Sorry, I didn't quite read the whole post, I guess. Why would you want to return to the 2003 version after if you install 2007? Wouldn't that be a step backward?

the book I need comes with the student ver.

Also I really am only attacked to outlook 2003 since I got that setup and I don't want to mess with setting up my email accounts anymore then I need to.

microcomputer applications I talked to somebody taking the class and the class requires office 2007 and the book comes with a copy of office 2007 student on a disk so I don't need to buy the software I just need to buy the book

You could upgrade all of the components that it comes with to the 2007 version and since Outlook is not included it *should* theoretically leave your Outlook 2003 alone, giving you the best of both worlds.

Although, that isn't your question... Can you just backup all the important information and try what johngalt suggested? You may have already looked something like this up, but here is information on how to do the backup. I just googled it this second...

Actually, Win7Cluts, now you're wrong - there is no Outlook with Office 2007 student edition. Without saying student you're making an incorrect statement.
