is it possible to batch file name in win7?

I have many videos and music that needs renaming often but i'm wary of 3rd party apps.
I use to use rename-it! back when i had vista and xp but it hasn't been updated for win7

You can select a bunch of files and then right click on the first file, select Rename, type a name (ex. XYZ.txt), all the files will be renamed.
The first file will be XYZ.txt and the others will be XYZ (1).txt, XYZ (2).txt, XYZ (3).txt, ......

EDIT: This works even in XP

I've always used Better File Rename. I work with many image, sound and video files and use this program a lot to change 100's a file names at once.

Just Google it....there is a trial version so you can try it out.

Just copy a bunch of files into a folder on your desktop to experiment with the various settings...

I use a slightly older version 4.9.5

Looks worse than it is, it took about a half hour to figure out most of the functions. after that I could do amazing amounts of renaming in a few minutes. Worth learning to use.
