Just redid my resume, what do you all think?

So, I just redid my resume after a long period of it being dull. What do you all think about it?

Yea I know I put down Windows 7, but I know SOMETHING about it so that's why it's there.

Hi there
I fixed the problem by removing Adobe Reader 9.1 in it's entireity and re-installing Adobe Acrobat plus the 7.1 update (note the Acrobat application - not the reader).

Now it works fine as per attachment.

I'd change the resume a little bit -- summarize your main skills on P1. Most people won't even begin to look at pages 3,4,5 etc these days. If pages 1 and 2 don't impress you might as well go and work in your local bar (actually these days you might even enjoy it more :D:D) .

I.T seems to pay less and less -- unlike most other jobs the LONGER you are in I.T the LESS you actually get paid - especially as an external contractor).

I have some friends in I.T who were earning around 800 - 1.000 GBP A DAY as SAP consultants around 2001 and were NEVER out of work. Last week some of these guys were "Scratting around" trying to find a few weeks work at around 240 - 290 GBP a day and wishing they were working like me as a Free Lance Tech Photographer and journalist.

I never got paid the 1,000 GBP a day but work has been pretty constant even if it is a lot of travelling.

Unless you HAVE to do it I don't recommend IT as a full time job anymore -- too much offshoring to India etc and you probably have to deal with the WORST management structure on the planet -- usually full of "Non Technical people" making Technical decisions.

Anyway good luck.

These days - Engineering - especially Gas and Oil, but some Electrical Generation, Plumbing, Carpentry, Bar staff. Photography. specialized journalism (me !!:D) and Politics seem to be the best paid jobs around now.

Cheers
jimbo

Ah, thanks for the info jimbo. I guess it's time I find something else I'm good at. I've never really been good at anything but this lol. I do like photography though and I hear freelance web designing/developing is still at it's peak.

I hear freelance web designing/developing is still at it's peak.

That time has come and gone, the Internet is a global market where the only difference between a dev in your own country and a dev in the 3rd world is the price and amount of time they will put in on a project.

Any complex/time consuming web development or artwork I want doing these days I contract out to developers/designers in India as it's far cheaper.
