Hello everybody , and thanks for the help.

I recently upgraded my graphics to an Asus-Ati AH 4650, and i encountered problems immediately once I installed the card.
Every couple of minutes the system goes unresponsive, the screen start flicking and then goes black for a few seconds (5 to 10) , then everything seems fine again but this error message appears in the system tray:
Display driver AMD driver stopped responding and has successfully recover.

I tried reinstalling the graphic card drivers, uninstalling and clearing the drivers from the system and reinstalling them again. It works fine for 30 to 40 mnts and then the screen goes black again.

I really appreciated any help that i can get.
Thanks again.

Erick

Ok i try the Hotfix and nothing, it was doing the same and the pc was much slower.
I also try the solution from the post , but is for Win 32 and i'm using Win 64.

I really appreciated any other suggestion.
Thanks
Erick

Sorry Munnepower. Follow the link: that is the latest driver for the 4650, albeit in beta. Select your card/OS/etc. from the Wizard.

Isn't your card overheating? Is the fan clean?

The issue is (most likely) with the nForce3 chipset on an AGP Radeon card under Windows 7.

Have never had a good ATI card. Always problems. Bought one and it gave out in 2 weeks. Get a Nvidia.

Two things to try if you have not: uninstall the gfx driver, reboot, if per chance Windows gives you a found new hardware/install driver wizard close it and run with the Windows generic driver for a while to see if the issue recurs. You could also try running in Safe Mode but that installs only necessary generic drivers (if the issue was cured in Safe Mode, you would not necessarily know if was the gfx or another driver).

Rik55 also has a very good observation; I don't mismatch chipsets even if they are "supposed" to play well together.
