i always encounter app crashes in web browsers(i usually use firefox, but even IE it still crashes), windows explorer, watching movies. it just crashes after 20-30 mins from startup. i barely finished one movie without a crash. BSOD happened wheni tried playing zynga poker(Facebooks apps), first was just app crash in firefox, but when i continuously restart the browser when crashes BSOD happen.

here i attach the minidump files:
hope anybody will help me figure out this problem
here are the specifications that i know about this laptop:
amd turion 64 x2
nvidia geforce 8600m GS
sorry i don't know much more about specs
(note: i already tried to change RAM and HDD and still the prolem exists)

These dump were caused by several factors. First some drivers dating back to 2006 that sorely need to be updated. Second a system file was referenced so I would run a system file check
(type cmd in search>right click and run as admin>sfc /scannow)

Finally and most importantly I would download a 3rd party app called memtestx86, burn it to cd and run it for at least 7 passes to test your memory.

Usual causes: Defective hardware (particularly memory - but not just RAM), Faulty system service, Antivirus, Device driver, NTFS corruption, BIOS

old drivers that need updating

first thank you for the immediate response..
and 2nd sorry but im having a hard time updating the drivers, please give me an idea how to update the drivers stated there as old. all i know in updating drivers is just for audio, video etc, and i don't know where that old drivers stated there belongs and how to update them
-for now i am not using antivirus, though scanned this computer regularly with malwarebytes
-for bios i had already tried to flash it, still no effect.
- system file check found corrupt files and successfully repaired them(it is not the first time i ran this check but before results found no corrupt files)
-successfully run memtest86 til 10 passes no errors found
but still i encounter BSOD a minute earlier while playing facebook app(zynga poker, i usually test this computer through that app because it usually crashes browser instantly or worst BSOD) and heres the minidump file:

3rd party drivers mentioned directly as probable causes were nvmfdx32.sys and RTKVHDA.sys

So you should focus on fixing those 2 issues.

However there were also other 3rd Party out of date drivers that could be causing havoc.
Code:

Top 2 drivers - Part of the nVidia chipset (nForce) driver package. Update from here: Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers

Next 3 drivers are related to the 56k modem installed in your computer, update from your computer manufacturer's website.

Note that RTKVHDA.sys is very much up to date with a timestamp of Tue Jun 08 21:06:12 2010, which makes it much more likely that it is hardware that is causing your BSODs.

Also in the oldest minidump in that latest zip file dxgkrnl.sys was mentioned. Being the Direct X graphics Kernel it means that that BSOD was graphics related. Your graphics driver is up to date so I would also suspect hardware here.

You say that you have done the memtest and it passed?

Try the graphics stress test just incase there is a hardware fault in your graphics card; but considering that only one BSOD was graphics related this is unlikely.

Graphics Stress Test:

usasma said:
FurMark Setup:
Download from here: FurMark: Graphics Card Stability and Stress Test, OpenGL Benchmark and GPU Temperature | oZone3D.Net
- If you have more than one GPU, select Multi-GPU during setup
- In the Run mode box, select "Stability Test" and "Log GPU Temperature"
Click "Go" to start the test
- Run the test until the GPU temperature maxes out - or until you start having problems (whichever comes first).
- Click "Quit" to exit

Also - what PSU are you using?

Reventon

first and foremost thank you so much for paying attention with this problem. for about 3 months aside from work i spent all my time trying to figure out this problem and almost decided to junk this machine.
well i had updated the drivers stated as old but it seems that 2 nvidia drivers(nvmfdx32.sys and nvsmf.sys) were the latest available. i tried to run a memtest86 again for about 24hours, at least 10 passes and some tests for 50 or more passes but no errors found. i had stressed the graphics card but no problem found.
now i'd like to focus on sound card, i had disabled it in device manager but still i experienced crashes. is there any other way to test or troubleshoot the soundcard. i want to make sure that this is not the cause of the crashes, was it enough that i had disabled it in device manager(but still crashes occur) to conclude that soundcard is not the culprit?
for PSU im sorry i don't know much about it and how to know what kind is my psu. tried to google but it only made me more confused. again thank you for the attention..
heres the dumps on recent bsods:

Good, hopefully that is the true cause.

Good luck, and don't hesitate to post back if you need more help.

here's more dumps of bsods i encountered recently, hope someone will take a look at it. i have my driver verifier on but seems it does not help at all. and as i had mentioned in my previous post i had run memtest86 for about 24 hours but found no error. i tried running prime95 torture test 2 times but both crashes after few hours. but in results notepad nothings written there what and why it crashes, all test results were passed. What annoys me much with this machine is the app crashes more than the bsod, random app crashes happens very numerous. i hope someone will give his personal view or sort of partial conclusion to this problem, hope its not too early to ask for that but im running out of idea what to do next..thanks again to all those who spent and will spend their time for free just to help analyze and figure out the problems brought to this forum.

Same two third party drivers mentioned.

I really do suspect hardware, especially as you have received a 0x124 STOP CODE this time around.

here are the specifications that i know about this laptop:
amd turion 64 x2
nvidia geforce 8600m GS
sorry i don't know much more about specs
(note: i already tried to change RAM and HDD and still the prolem exists)

So you have eliminated RAM and HDD. I think it is either a CPU or Motherboard fault, possibly even the video card.. but that is unlikely with this pattern of errors.

Especially with laptops it is hard to diagnose just what component out of CPU/Motherboard is faulty.

I assume that you no longer have warranty?

Regards,
Reventon

thank you reventon, warranty already expired. i am sure its not the RAM stick or HDD. coz i tried using those ram sticks on different laptop and vice versa. well ram sockets less likely coz i tried using 1 stick at a time in different sockets, for HDD i bought a new one. again thanks..

Ok then, you are left with either the CPU/Motherboard at fault. It is up to you what you do at this stage. If I were you I would look at the cost of replacement parts for your laptop; or even if it is worth just buying a new laptop.

Not to undermine Reventon's advice in the least...he is one of the best.

May I suggest unisntalling your Realtek High Definition Sound drivers and installing a fresh copy?

yes thats what im considering now rev, well its too risky for me coz were not certain what will happen if i try gambling on replacing them. and i am not capable of doing it myself, bringing to shop adds the cost. so guess that would be it. thanks a lot for all the help and efforts

realtek have updated their drivers this month and did a fresh install of it, but still unlucky. got 5 mozilla app crashes before this post. well i doubt if its the soundcard hardware itself but i don't know how to troubleshoot it exactly. have tried it unabled in device manager before but still the same.
