Hi all
I had Windows Seven installed on my PC for almost a month, and I installed windows XP recently on another drive on my hard , but I can't start windows seven anymore , I have tons of applications on win 7 and I don't wanna lose them .
I have two main problems :
1- what should I do to be able to use my old windows seven again without formatting the drive ?
2- How can I install windows xp with win 7 and use both of them ?

please please help me . I'm really stuck .
thanks in advance

certainly :) a dual boot is when you have two Operating Systems on your computer, in your case Windows 7 and XP, what we are trying to achieve here is the computer will ask you when you switch it on what Operating System you want it to boot into, Windows 7 or XP, which i believe is what your question number 2 was.

As you already have both Windows 7 and XP installed, you have already done half of the hard work.
If im reading your post correctly, you currently have XP bootable but Windows 7 is not. Is that right? If so you need to skip ahead to the step 7 of Method Two and follow it from there, that will allow you to boot both Operating Systems at the same time

If they are both on the same HD, then install EasyBCD 2.0 beta to XP after doing quick forum registration to use beta. You'll also need Net Framework 2.0 to run it in XP.

On the EasyBCD Add/Remove tab, add Windows 7, save, restart.

If this fails, you'll need to start Win7 to install EasyBCD 2.0 to Add XP, accept offered boot files, autocomplete, Save, Restart.

To start Win7, mark it Active in XP DIsk Mgmt, restart, enter BIOS setup to set Win7 HD first HD to boot (after DVD drive), then boot Win7 DVD Repair console or Repair CD, click through to Recovery Tools list to run Startup Repair up to 3 separate times with reboots until Win7 starts.

If you have your OS's on separate HD's, it is best to unplug XP HD, use above step to restart Win7, then plug XP back in and Dual Boot using one-time BIOS boot menu F-key given on first boot screen.

thanks " gregrocker " for help .
and Especial thanks to " severedsolo " now I'm writing this post in Windows seven ;)
