Dirt 2 Error

Any ideas how to solve this error?

Check the event viewer logs (Custom Views > Administrative Events) and look for the faulting module path in the app crash.

I only just installed this game the other day and have noticed it tends to crash a bit. I haven't bothered looking for the issue yet.

Apparently, this is a problem caused by an incorrect installation of Games For Windows Live. According to the game’s community manager the fix here is quite simple:

1. Restart your computer.
2. Download and install again Games for Windows Live
3. Restart the computer again and fire up the game!

Nope it installs when you install the game, you just have to re-install it over the top with the latest version Games for windows live

I had a quick look at my errors - and that's the only one I see. Unfortunately it's not very helpful in conclusively pinpointing the culprit

TBH, I'm not sure if it's a driver issue or just the game itself.

The installation I have it on is a fresh installation with Cat 10.5 official + app profiles and all the latest DX redistributable, GFWL, Steam client etc

I don't have the same frequency of crashes, but then again I haven't really spent a lot of time playing it.

I've had the game for a while now and can't remember it ever crashing, maybe it's ati related?

It took me hours to D/L from Steam, I don't want to D/L again.
BTW what do you mean "is this a legit copy"?

Problem solved!!
Instead of launching the game via Steam go to your Games folder and launch it from there.

^^^^^^^ I thought it was the answer, I was still having errors.
However, this here could be the answer; "dirt executable has stopped working" - Codemasters Forums
