The "Official" RC download for Technet/MSDN

So nobody got his hands on the official RC yet ? it's been out for almost 2 days now..

You'll likely find that many with paid subscriptions already have both or at least one of the two already up and running just by looking at some now asking for help with some problems they ran into as well as looking some of the new tutorial seen lately like the new XP mode. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/8247-windows-xp-mode-install-setup.html

That was finished once the RCs were on and running well in order to look over the new feature seen with 7. And you know just about everyone will be booted into the RCs following May 5th!

Sorry Night Hawk I didn't fully understood what you said. Why people will be using the official in May 5th if the leaked 7100 build is exactly the same ?

Easy - the original leaked 7100 is the same; however, there are now dozens of altered versions of 7100 clogging the download torrents. Better wait a few days and guarantee you get a clean copy straight from Microsoft.

No chances of running into something you don't want by seeing the RCs come directly from the software company itself. Answer : "Because it's there".

Incidentally if the hashes are the same then the build WILL be identical to torrent ones.

However some people *might* be more comfortable with "an official release".

Incidentally if MSDN subscription keys are different then when doing a windows update they might get different updates etc -- I don't know of course.

I assume however in testing an RC meant for "Public Consumption" this would cause a bit more problems in maintenance as you'd have 2 different streams for the same product.

I'll be keeping my 7100 until either

a) the initial feeding frenzy on the public servers will have died down (probably after a week or so).

b) Somebody comes up with a "show stopping" or major difference between the "Official Leaked" build or the actual "official" build.

I'm quite sure mine is 100% genuine in any case .

what he means is to be carefull with these downloads...
check the hashes posted here if for some reason it does not check out either try to recheck the download on bittorent or throw it...

but you can be safe if you check your hashes and like i said either recheck the download or throw it away
but dont install it

The 32bit downloaded like lightning while both were started at the same time. Here's that one done in 45min.! This time they checked while the others didn't see the iso at the end once downloaded.

I just finished downloading [7100.0.090421-1700_x64fre_client_en-us_Retail_Ultimate-GRC1CULXFRER_EN_DVD] from a torrent site and the Hash results are...

TechNet Plus

So if I own 5 computers and I am the only user and I want to install, say, Windows 7 on all of them. Why would I NOT do it through a TechNet Plus subscription?
And if I can do this legally, what about things like the 20% off coupon at Quickstart.com, etc.? Is that the way to go?
I recall years ago being a member through Volume Licensing and there was something that precluded using the subscription as a means of having legitimate licenses on nothing more than home computers.
Any ideas? Thanks.
