Gold pips are what is in between Guru and Medal so gold also means first step toward medal and looks like you have five of them Golden Buffalo chips. One more step to Bronze star status for you.

Thanks everybody! I've been on here now for 15 months, minus a 5-month leave of absence earlier this year, and I have to say I'm very impressed with the overall quality of this site and its membership. For a site with almost 88,000 members and over 800,000 posts to have so few incidents of misconduct is remarkable to me. I also love that the forums have such a spirit of community, where everyone contributes and not just a few select "experts". Every topic is both a teaching opportunity and a learning opportunity.

I'm already sad thinking about the day when SF fades away in the shadow of the Eight Forums ... I really hope that all the regulars here will devote as much attention to the new boards as they do to these, when the time comes. I know I will certainly try.

BTW, shouldn't the "Group Membership" section of the UCP now show that I am part of the Gurus usergroup?

Oh, I already got that and joined. I meant isn't there a Gurus usergroup in the forum software, like where you'd go to set the color of your name if you were both a Gold Member and a Guru?

That's what the badge is for, if you had another badge there would be something

there to change which group you would want to identify yourself with.

That's what the badge is for, if you had another badge there would be something

there to change which group you would want to identify yourself with.

So you don't see yourself as belonging to any groups at all unless you have at least two? Hmm...
