Severe mouse movement problem! :(

Hi there,

additional to other minor issues I do have a problem with weird mouse movements, which renders typing + doing anything on my Windows 7 Pro (x64) setup useless!

Since today, the mouse focus changes randomly to somewhere else, which is especially annyoing, when I'm typing a password, which I then have to (try to) retype! Even worse if these "windows" are AJAX or the like, so they're gone after a focus change!! :( This is obviously also a problem when gaming or writing important stuff to people, in general I lose a lot of time.

I did check if it could be the fault of: Google Chrome or my bluetooth mouse, yet the problem continues when using only the laptop touchpad and also happens in other applications than the browser, so it is a Windows problem! Should I try to repair?

The only thing that might be causing it, is the touchpad, which I don't touch I think/hope, yet of which the application doesn't seem to run and show up in the mouse settings anymore. I don't know where it went (and why), yet the touchpad does still work, only the application (I'll look up the issuer asap) has vanished.

Do you have any ideas of how to solve it? Thanks for your help in advance!

Kind regards.

@richc46: I doubt it is the mouse speed, because I had it on the certain setting for a long time!! Even though, I just lowered it a little bit, just for checking it.

To the other point, as mentioned I tried another mouse, my touchpad! So it isn't the fault of the mouse for sure. I mean, I doubt both "mice" would fail in the same way at the same time, won't they?

*edit* Just happened again, with the greatly lowered mouse speed!

You may want to update the drivers. Go to search type device manager, and for the mouse driver look for any yellow markers. If not, go to the website and update drivers for mouse and or keypad.

Perhaps try TouchFreeze? Disables touchpad while typing:

I do use a Razer Orochi and do have installed the latest mouse drivers (1.02) and firmware (1.06). As said it can't be the mouse/mice itself. Only maybe for the touchpad, but why should it react the same like when I use the wireless BT mouse?

Also I have all Windows Updates and all Sony (Vaio) Updates installed via "Vaio Update"!

@A Guy: Good idea, I might try it. Yet I doubt I touched (repeatedly touch) the touchpad without noticing it! ^^ *edit* Are you sure this works on Windows 7 x64 too?

I installed it, this was possible. Yet it doesn't stop my touchpad from working and I can't set any options for the tool.

What I'm also wondering about is that neither Windows nor Sony does recognize that the driver/tool for the touchpad went missing. It could be I'm wrong, but I'm wondering about why every small piece of crapware hacks itself into the autostart like crazy, yet such "welcome" (kind of system) apps don't.

Actually a great alternative to TouchFreeze is "Touchpad Blocker", which you can find here. Works on Win7 x64. :)
