May I ask, why are you trying to change the MTU settings and what are you trying to achieve? What kind of internet connection are you using?

Take a look at this: ::. Kitz - Vista MTU .::
you need to change the MTU on Local Area Connection not on Pseudo Loopback Device (which is what you have changed by the look of it)

I assume your changing the MTU because your Routers MTU is lower? You should know, that it actually makes very little difference to your internet connection.

This is all that happens when i try to change the local area connection though

Usage: set subinterface [interface=]<string> [[mtu=]<integer>]
[[subinterface=]<string>] [[store=]active|persistent]
Parameters:
Tag Value
interface - Interface name or index.
mtu - The MTU of this subinterface. The default is the
natural MTU of the link.
subinterface - Subinterface LUID. This is only required on
interfaces with multiple subinterfaces.
store - One of the following values:
active: Set only lasts until next boot.
persistent: Set is persistent.
Remarks: Modifies subinterface configuration parameters.
Example:
set subinterface "1" mtu=1500 store=active

what are you trying to change the MTU to? is it 1432? If so type this into command prompt exactly as I type it here (make sure you are running command prompt as administrator)

netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface "Local Area Connection" mtu=1432 store=persistent

to change Pseudo back type
netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface "Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1" mtu=4294967295 store=persistent

You will know if it is correct because it will just say "OK"
edit: REREAD THIS POST I put the wrong instructions for Pseudo Interface. Its now correct
