Hi maybe someone out there will know why my systems performance is so bad (stuttering) with GTA4 EFLC. I've run the benchmark included from within the game itself and attached the results; my CCC settings are entirely stock apart from Catalyst A.I. which I've set to max (with little effect). Basically it doesn't seem to be taxing the system very much so why the crappy results? The truth is I've hardly had a single game run well with my set-up to date (Crysis, Fallout 3, Bioshock, Company of Heros: Tales of Valour etc, etc).

Other than the fact you are using high resolution and high quality settings on all the enclosed txt doc doesnt tell us much.

Do you have the most recent video driver? Is directx updated? Can you go into event viewer (windows logs>application tab) and look for critical event (they have red in the left column) that are related to the problem.

Yes I'm definitely using the latest driver package (10.6) for my video card and I uninstalled the old ones beforehand, not forgetting to do a clean with driver sweeper before installing. I also installed the latest Direct X package last night which didn't make a difference either.

As for Errors, just "SideBySide":

Activation context generation failed for "c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe AIR\Versions\1.0\Adobe AIR.dll".Error in manifest or policy file "c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe AIR\Versions\1.0\Adobe AIR.dll" on line 3. The value "MAJOR_VERSION.MINOR_VERSION.BUILD_NUMBER_MAJOR.BUILD_NUMBER_MINOR" of attribute "version" in element "assemblyIdentity" is invalid.

There was a warning for "XLive" (probably nothing):

Title EFLC.exe (1, 1, 1, 0) XLive 3.2.0003.0 (WGX_XLIVE_v3.02_RTM.100402-1646) C:\Windows\system32\xlive.dll

does anybody think it could be my memory? It passes memtest86 fine but came from dell and is only 1066mhz memory at stock timings. Apart from that everything is pretty decent and people with similar spec systems are reporting 60-70 FPS average?!

Have you installed the patch for GTA IV? that fixes lots of lag issues and increases system performance. you can find it on the Rockstar Games website.

Also, sorry the thread got lost. Sometimes if something isn't updated, it isn't seen in the current threads. There are quite a few threads on GTA IV on SevenForums. you can use the Search at top and find tons of them. Most lag issues point to needing the patch.
