I cannot preview any fonts in Windows 7 anymore. I haven't tried this for a very long time so I'm not sure what may have caused it or when. When I try to view a font in windows (double clicking on a font file) I receive an error message instead of the classic "The quick fox jumps over the..." examples of the font in action. I've already attempted to reset the font settings to their default (Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Fonts\Font settings, click restore default font settings button) and I'm unsure of how to proceed. Anybody have any suggestions or ideas?

Double Clicking A Font File Should Produce

Instead I Receive This Error

Hi Mulsiphix and welcome

Do you have a backup from before the problem started that you can restore from?

Do you have the windows 7 dvd from which to do a repair install?

The font files are located in the default locations correct?

No backup but yes I have the Windows DVD. I've done a repair install in the past and it reset a great deal of stuff in Windows. It took me forever to configure the settings back to the way I had them across the entire OS. Can this be fixed without such a drastic measure?
