Hey ppl. I've only had positive experiences with my Dell XPS 435t/9000.
The only thing that sucks is that dell has put some kind of block on the BIOS settings for overclocking/turbo mode for i7. Does anyone know of any methods to remove this blockage or another way around it, any programs u can use or anything? Sucks that I'm not able to overclock it.

Dell, like many OEM manufacturers installs a limited BIOS. They don't want their customers overclocking. There have been hacks in the past, but I wouldn't recommend anything like that, and certainly won't look for them :)

I can't see Dell blocking Turbo Boost. Dell is bad, but they're not so retarded as to cripple a main feature of a cpu. You have Turbo Boost, but you probably don't notice it because the jumps in clock speed aren't very dramatic: 3.07GHz to 3.3GHz is a relatively minor bump.

I took the OP to mean overclocking, as turbo is almost assuredly on. But to overclock, many turn it off. At least that was how I took it :geek:

Hawkin,

If it's any consolation, you don't actually need to OC as that 5970, pushed by your 3GHz i7, will run any game at max settings at your resolution. :) Oh... what an unfortunate situation to find yourself in. :p
