Those cards (the ones quoted from HPs site) should work with your system right now.

No Lordbob answered pretty much all you need to know. If you have any suspect hardware it would be your power supply. Whatever card you decide on you must make sure your power supply has enough wattage but mostly that it has enough volts on the 12v rail, and also if needed has the proper cable.
Some cards require a 6 pin power connection, all depends on how much you want to spend and what card your current power supply can handle. Fabe Looks like I typed to slow sorry for repeating.

This is why it is never a good idea to ask a similar question in someone else's thread, it can and does lead to confusion amongst the respondents. Jpinghels system is the one that can use any of the cards that Lordbob posted can use, in Relliy's case none of them will work. I can guarantee that that old Socket A system of his does not have a PCI-E slot, at best it will have an AGP slot.

As to whether Reilly can upgrade his video card, yes he can. Is it worth it? Not really as the cost of pretty much any Windows 7 compatible video card will be more than his entire computer is worth.
