I need to connect my Vaio (via a USB-Serial adapter) hard wire to a radio device that's expecting a PPP connection at 57600. In XP, you were offered the option of selecting a device for connection (ie; COM 1, etc). W7 seems to only allow a dial-up, which I can't get to work. Any ideas short of just going back to XP?? (BTW, this is urgent - I'm on a ship and I need to fix this radio...

If your hardware can run a virtual xp mode then you should have no problems
