Dual Nvidia geforce 9600gts good idea?

Hi, I am thinking about getting another Nvida geforce 9600gt and linking them. The only problem is that I cant remember what the cord is that connects them is called. Oh, and Do you think I should do it also??

It's called SLI. Make sure your MB supports SLI and you have 2 PCI slots. If when running 2 slots it defaults each to x8, you will lose performance. You would be better served to buy 1 high quality GPU, depending on your actual hardware. There are power issues as well. Here is a link on 2 SLI 9600's for some reference:

Gaming mostly. Well i'm thinking about the future, maybe in a couple years, when the nvidia geforce 9600gt will be cheaper (right now runs for about $150), so it matches the performance of
really high end cards. Instead of just getting 1 really high end card. I might do it in shorter time than I think though. A single nvidia geforce 9600gt has two dvi inputs so I wouldnt have to buy another one to do dual screens either.

Do they have any slots in them? PCIe slots should have a small section near the back of the case, then a longer one on the motherboard side.
The black one is a PCIe slot, and the white ones are PCI slots.

Also if you'd provide your motherboard model # it would help you can use this program for specs if you don't know the # http://www.piriform.com/speccy You'll also need an SLI bridge, sometimes they can be hard to find but I know a couple of places to get one. As well as PCI-e power connections this I'm unsure of so your power supply may come into play, if it has the connections and has the watts / amps to run 2 cards. You were willing to pay $150 for the 9600GT and the GTX460 is $199 and you could probably get $45-50 for your 9600GT.
I bought a 9600GT for $45 a couple of months ago to run my 3rd screen.
My 9600GT is sitting in a box since I sold my GTX285 and bought an HD5850.

the 9600gt was 64.99 at staples they had alot on clerance yesterday besides that why bother getting two 9600gt when one card can do it with eyefinity might as well drop atleast 200+ on a decent gpu with a option to upgrade later

how long you expect to be playing games on that gpu when they come out with more complex ways and style of gaming software?

also since your running a nvidia board you might as well throw some cash out there cause honestly nvidia is really expensive
