Hi

I tried to install Windows 7 Home Premium on a HP Pavilion 9168.sc Tower Pc. As soon as the installer started to install the drivers a error message appeared that said this: "Sorry can't configure Windows to work with this hardware". I click OK and the installation stops. No information was given on what hardware caused the error.
I tried both the 64 bit and the 32 bit version, same result. It was a clean install both times, no upgrade.
I´ve tried to find answers on HP.com but I seem to get nowhere. The PC is only 2 years old and I never imagined that there would be problem installing W7 on in.
I have the latest BIOS upgrade.
Is there anyone out there that has any experience of this kind of problem?

best regards

Can you try a upgrade?

I tried a clean installation on a new harddrive not to mess up my original c-drive. Maybe I can make a copy of my original drive and try an upgrade on that one.
thanks for the suggestion
cheers

Overview

Before you begin: Be sure to plug in and turn on any USB devices or other devices, such as printers, external hard disks, and scanners, that you regularly use with the PC you're checking.

The Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor scans your PC for potential compatibility issues and lets you know about your Windows 7 upgrade options. Within minutes, you'll get a report that tells you if your PC meets the system requirements, if any known compatibility issues with your hardware, devices, and installed programs are found, and gives guidance on what to do to before installing Windows 7 on your PC.
If you haven't done this already, I would go to M/S Windows site and check if your computers has the proper hardware to use Windows 7.
