Add SP1 to Windows 7 DVD?

Vista SP1 (Service Pack 1) was the last Windows Service Pack I am aware of that could be added (slipstreamed into the installation media) to the Windows Install DVD.

Will I be able to "slipstream" Service Packs into my Windows 7 Home Premium DVD? Will I be able to purchase new DVD media with the new service packs added?

I wasn't able to find anything solid yet on slimmin Service Packs into Windows 7 or if the new media will be available on DVD's

| don't see why SP1 can't be slip-streamed to your install DVD of Windows 7 x32/x64.
Will it be available in stores? not yet ...until SP1 final is signed off by Microsoft, only then you will see Windows 7 incl SP1 in the future.

Going back a few years, I was able to create fresh XP install CDs that included Service Packs both using the command line and a convenient utility. It just meant that after an install or reinstall I didn't have to wait for all of the Windows Updates to download and install, at least the ones included in the Service Pack.

I used the Vista version of the utility to slipstream Vista SP1 to a fresh Install DVD, but the Utility would not slipstream Vista SP2, nore was there ANY WAY I could find to do that. The ONLY way to apply the Service Pack was to download the iso, burn it to disc and install it. AND, you MUST have already applied SP1 before you can do the SP2. I understood that Vista with SP1 and 2 are available as a download for MS TechNet Subscribers, but not to the general public.

So to my question: Has anyone tried to use the Vista Utility (or any other method) to slipstream the SP into a 7 DVD. As I understand, the reason the Vista SP2 would not slipstream was a MS design. Whatever method MS chose to use to update Vista SP1 to SP2, it did not allow for slipstreaming. So will Service Packs be capable of future slipstreaming, or will MS make some other method available to the general public?
