hey, i built a new pc but i keep getting random blue screens from time to time, even firefox crashes a lot sometimes.. and other times its fine and i go to the same sites everytime, seems to be a ram memory problem but i tested both sticks (i have 2x2gb) by removing one to see which one has problems.. but they both seem to..

so this is what i have:

mainboard: gigabyte P55-US3L, socket 1156
cpu: i5 650 3.2ghz 1156
ram: 2x corsair 2gb ddr3 1333mhz (timings: 9-9-9-24) (VS2GB1333D3 G)
video card: asus nvidia gts 250 512mb ddr3

i also did tests with memtest86+ for 6 hours and no errors.. i can't figure out which hardware part could cause this problem.. if i knew i would replace it right away.. although it still seems to be a ram memory problem..

right now im using windows 7 but when i first used this pc i used XP pro and it was a lot worse than windows 7, it would freeze and get blue screens a lot more often..

i attached my dmp files.. if anybody knows whats the problem please tell me

thanks

i am not getting any clues from debugger at the moment and your drivers are certainly not old ...............

what antivirus and or third party firewall are you using ?

can you run the windows 7 upgrade advisor to check your hardware compatibility ?

i'm not using any antivirus (i'm 100% sure i don't have viruses or stuff like that) and just the windows firewall - people said it's fine.. and since i can't use sygate personal firewall pro..

this is what i get from windows 7 upgrade advisor, not sure where to find that update.. but it's hard to believe it's because of that..

identify your exact model in device manager then look for drivers on the Realtek website :)

test your Ram at cold boot please:
Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

ok so i ran the test on cold boot, i did get errors this time, then i shut down the PC, started it right after and ran it again and got a lot less.. i also took pictures with my camera.. i didn't know how else to save the information lol

so the picture with 160 errors is the first test from the first cold boot and the other one is when i shut it down and done it again..

what does this mean? i don't really think it's because of my ram..

thanks

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot. Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

im pretty sure all slots are bad, i didn't test it with memtest86+ but i did test every stick individually in every slot and i had problems in windows with crashes and stuff like that, so does this mean that my mainboard needs replaced? or are the components incompatible? it's impossible that both new sticks of ram are bad..

thanks

I will get RAM expert for you in case you want to play with the setting. Yes, it sounds impossible that both new stick of ram are bad. When you bought the 2 stick of ram, did you double check if they compatible with your motherboard?

2200mhz
1066mhz

and my ram:
2x corsair 2GB ddr3 1333mhz (timings: 9-9-9-24) (VS2GB1333D3 G)

If we can get some information on your hardware, we can make better suggestions.

You need to find out which revision your motherboard is, open the case and look in the lower left corner, it will have the revision number there. Example (rev. 2.0).

You can D/L your motherboard manual and memory support list from Gigabyte.

Can you D/L CPUZ.
Open CPUZ and take a screen shot of the CPU, Memory and SPD tabs, use the Snipping tool, Start button> All Programs> Accessories> Snipping Tool.
Save to a convenient place.

Then post using this method.
How to Post a Screenshot in Seven Forums.

This will give us some information needed to analyze further.

Check your BIOS and let us know what voltage the RAM is currently running at.

says REV 2.1 on the mainboard, hmm weird i don't find it on the gigabyte website..

and here are my screenshots, thanks!

edit: BIOS DRAM Voltage: 1.500V, DRAM Termination: 0.750V, both set to auto

I don't see rev.2.1 either, we'll use rev.2.0 for now.

Having some difficulty D/L the manual, I'll make some checks with the manual and RAM info and post what I find.

Can you check in your BIOS and tell us what the DRAM voltage is?
At the BIOS screen, select 'MB Intelligent Tweaker(M.I.T.)' at the bottom of the screen you should see 'DRAM Voltage'.

Which slots do you have the RAM in?

The only Corsair 1333 RAM listed in the Gigabyte compatibility list is CM3X8GX3M4A1333C9.
We should be able to get this working but, we might have to come back to this issue.

In CPUZ look at the 'Mainboard' tab and tell us the BIOS version number.

sorry just edited after you read my post

it's: DRAM Voltage: 1.500V, DRAM Termination: 0.750V, both set to auto

the ram is in the white slots 1 and 3 i did test 2 and 4 before and no difference

hmm does that mean that my mainboard does not support the ram i have?

thanks

In CPUZ look at the 'Mainboard' tab and tell us the BIOS version number.

says "FE"

by the way i just found something in google someone saying that i5 processors are picky with ram memory and that they don't work with all memory sticks, hmm not sure if this is true..
