@SmartEyeball I have sort of started CBT (never heard that term before). This I feel is crucial in this matter. I don't want to be taking medications. I would like to resolve this issue so long term medication isn't needed. I do feel my situation is not as drastic as some people who suffer from panic attacks. This is my third time dealing with it. I have a friend who is into meditation and have been talking with him about practices to follow to stay relaxed and put my mind in a steady state. I was already practicing this last week when it happened, but it helped tremendously. I also will be talking to a psychiatrist to see if going to a psychologist can be arranged.

Gotta go to hospital A to get Doctor B to go see Doctor C, but if Doc C can help, then its worth it.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is just one of the multitude of labels applied to what is essentially 're-training your thought processes' in order to be able to deal with issues better. We all do it in one way, shape or form as it is.

Unfortunately our cognitions are often to our detriment

Ever rationalised? That's a form of cognitive behaviour. The therapy part is avoiding the negative actions that stem from those cognitions.

The basic underlying process to all therapy is to unravel and identify your sub-concious triggers and bring them forward to a concious level where they can be acknowledged and then dealt with more effectively.

Medication is a good short term stop gap method to help alleviate your panic attacks, but as you surmised, seeking a more permanent solution such as visiting a pysc will be more beneficial in the long run.

Everyone's issues are unique and differ in their intensity and manifestations but that in no way diminishes the importance of your personal needs.

There is no magic "one cure fits all". What works for one person may not work for another. You may even have to try a few dead ends before you find what works best for you.

Don't be disheartened if it doesn't magically all falls into place. The human mind is as frustrating as much as it is wonderfully complex.

I wish you the best in finding a workable solution or compromise

The thing you must never do is give up.
There are other's in more difficult health situations than yours and they are fighter's.
It's their faith in themselves, faith in their support groups and faith in God that keep's them going.
So glad you are on the right track and WE are behind you and the other's, here in windows seven, that are going through health issues.
Stay positive. Stay strong as quitting is not an option.

Like everything in California being half cut or half _ssed, the majority voices are never heard!

Trouble with California grass is all the pesticides and chemicals used to kill weeds will also kill you.

We've just ended the great experiment here that's been running for a few years - cannabis was reduced from a class B prohibited substance to a Class C for mere possession (similar to your misdemeanour's).

What it did stop was those people who self medicated for pain control were not harassed by the police. Unfortunately the powers that be, changed their mind and re-classified again.

Now we again have the prospect of elderly grandmothers with arthritis, risking being criminalised, whilst the much more serious issue of alcohol abuse rising unchecked.

Alcohol can certainly cause a lot more problems, from what I've seen and experienced over the years.
