You will have to go to the website for your Asus motherboard and download either a Windows 7 or Vista NIC driver and install that onto your computer. You won't be able to use the driver that came with XP under Windows7.

Yeah, just go to support.asus.com and download the drivers for the NIC for your motherboard and you should be fine. In regard to the VM, once you install the appropriate NIC for your real OS, your virtual OS should be connected as well, if not, you may need to intsall the VirtualBox Guest Add-Ins (at least that's what I think they're called).

You're right, it's not there. I think you're going to have to check your motherboard model because that doesn't seem to exist. If you're not sure, you can use HWinfo32 from HWiNFO & HWiNFO32 - Hardware Information and Analysis Tools and look up the exact motherboard. I understand you don't have internet on that PC but if you can download it on another PC and use a flash drive to take it there, you should be able to see and let us know.

Assuming it's a NIC for which Windows 7 has drivers included (most Realtek chipsets work), then you should have no problems.

Sometimes they do but depending on the card, you may not need it as some of the NICs are already compatible out of the box with Windows 7 as the OS already has the driver.

And if anything, with the new Network Card, you may be able to get Windows Update to detect the built-in Network Card.
