Network connection dropping while downloading with utorrent?

I've been having this problem ever since I've installed win 7. With xp before I never had my connection dropping so often that I have it on win7 which is like every 5 minutes. My internet also drops if I watch flash videos and sometimes it would also drop when I won't have utorrent or anything downloading open, however I somehow tweaked this, but still my connection is dropping every 5 min or so when I have my utorrent open and downloading files...
I've read so many topics on win7 dropping connection, but none of them didn't seem to have a fix, so what's it with win7 dropping connection?
I'm really so frustrated already I've ben thinking about downgrading to xp, cause this is driving me nuts, so to this day, can anyone tell me if anyone has found a fix to this yet?

I'm currently using x86 7600build and in some other topic here on these forums I read someone saying that 7127 build seems to fix connection dropping, so can anyone confirm that or tell me what build can I usethat this problem with connection won't be present in it anymore?
I'm running out of idea's here, so don't tell me how I can fix this in current build I have, cause I've tried at least a dozen tweaks and settings, and this won't seem to fix my connection dropping, so please help! I know I'm not the only one in this, so I really hope you guys have a fix here...

btw, my hardware is up to date for my ethernet driver, also I've tweaked utorrent settings a lot and this doesn't help me either

Well we could blame Utorrent like in the old days but that never got us anywhere or fixed anything.

If you are certain the driver you are using is for Windows 7 then the router is the next place I would look. Firmware updates go a long way here so I would look into that first. And you will definately want to use the Windows 7 RTM build 7600.

You're right, but still then if the blame would be on utorrent, why would bitcomet do the same thing? I've tried both and both droipping connection. The only one not droping it is Ares, but this one's so slow I would not use it for anything other than downloading music

as far as for the router updates, I don't have it I have a normal usb cable modem, this one to be specific modem thompson thg 540 - Iskanje Google

and updates are all new for it, so I do not think it's any of my harware or my computer itself, but there's something wrong with connection setting in windows 7

why do you say that about 7600, is 7127 worse. does it have anything missing that 7600 has?
but honestly if it fixes the problem I don't see a reason why not using this version?
I just want a confirmation first before I do a reinstall to older build...

yep, but flash vids don't bother me as much as it doesn't happen as often anymore. It's utorrent now eating up my nerves and apparently connection too! x.x

This exact problem has come up countless times and no...it's not a Utorrent problem or a flash problem or a Windows 7 problem.

It's either the router or the driver or the network adaptor is out of date, this has proven to be true in every case IMO. The cure in every case was either update the router or it's firmware or look for a better driver or use a more up to date PCI eithernet card or wireless adaptor.

The problem is that it's nearly impossible to say which one of those is causing the problem.

thank you, but if that's the problem, how come on windows xp there's no such problem? here comes my doubt about my modem and drivers and utorrent and all others to blame and falls on windows 7 itself

Try limiting the number of connections, some routers can't handle the traffic and reset themselves to try and compensate. Connect the computer directly to the Modem without the router and if it works OK that will tell you it is the Router.

but I don't have a router..I only have this thompson modem which is connected through usb...so any ideas what I could do?

have you try uncheck "Enable uPNP port mapping" in uTorrent (under Preferences-Bandwidth).
