Alert! Be cautious about this spam e-mail apparently from Yahoo!

I am attaching the screenshots (upper and lower part) of the email from Yahoo! mail box. it has not marked as spam still by Yahoo!. I made contact with them and reported against it. I will give update when ever they replies.

Description: It will appear as if its from real Yahoo! mail service asking your personal details. Its a spam and dangerous for not so advanced internet users. Yahoo! never will ask your personal information through e-mail.

P.S.: Windows Mail correctly recognized it as spam.

AOL is pretty nice. I use one, spam is lesser than Yahoo! Free Hotmail is walking towards Yahoo! in terms of spam, but its impossible to reach the altitude Yahoo gained :roflmao:

Few years ago, I was far from computer for a week...opened when I came and saw nearly 1200 mails. Two e-mails were important among them.

AOL is pretty nice. I use one, spam is lesser than Yahoo! Free Hotmail is walking towards Yahoo! in terms of spam, but its impossible to reach the altitude Yahoo gained :roflmao:

I don't use Yahoo! I seemed to get too much spam. I am using Apple MobileMe. I get some spam, but not nearly as much. Most of the time you see something like that survey asking for your password, you know it's a scam.
Did you contact Yahoo! support about that email?

Yeah I did, they sent automated confirmatory e-mail (wrongly twice).
I have premium account too, thats completely clean (Not Yahoo).

I seen something similar to this twice last week.
Window Live mail did flag it as SPAM however.

The mail looked legit. From Blizzard.

In a nut shell, my Battlenet account may have been compromised and I needed to follow a link to verify my personal details and talk to a rep. about it.

If I failed to do so, my WOW account would be banned.


I found this odd because I have NEVER had a World of Warcraft account, nor have I even played the game.

So I guess they'll just need to ban my account that never existed in the first place.

Thanks for adding, we may start a total thread on these things, it will be a reference for scams (still now Yahoo! answer (LOL) is the main reference).

There is another :

"Your parcel cant be delivered by DHL" (gives address such as postmaster@xyz...). Its dangerous. It contains a file as attachment (saying details are in the attachment). And that contain a virus.

Its look almost real, infact, the real DHL does not look that gorgeous LOL

Don't feel bad...I get the same crap from PayPal and Bank of America.

Foot note:

I will NOT say the details, but, there is a website, 
that provides to send email to any email address 
from any e-mail address. Cant get it?
Say, Arc's personal email is [email protected] 
and that of Dennis is [email protected].
Now say, a third person CAN send a fake mail 
from Arc's email to that of Dennis. 
How to catch it? check the full header. 
You will get the i.p. The sending server will 
not be of example.com. If members need detailed 
screenshot (without that site address), I can post it.

I use Yahoo as my Junk e-mail address. I have multiple accounts with my ISP. One is for my important financial dealings, another is for my friends. I use Yahoo for all those sites that want an e-mail address to access them and its all junk anyway. If it gets to bad I just kill it and get another one.

We can easily make this is not from Yahoo since the E-mail address "[email protected].hk" and as far as my knowledge non of the E-mail, Banks will ask for your Password by E-mail.

100% right.

It should be "centercustomeralert@yahoo.co.hk" , to be a valid Yahoo mail. Though I dont know whether .co.hk is actually present (like .co.in).
