Constant reboot Abit I-N73HD (x86 32bit)

Hello all,
I am trying to get windows 7 to install on my Abit I-N73HD board. The system work fine with XP & Vista. I start a clean install and could not get pass the installation process. It goes to write and save registry section (last leg on the install) and then reboot the PC. The reboot continue on until I unplug power. I am using the latest bios version 13 with 2GB of RAM and Intel DuoCore E5200.
I do not see any BSOD or anything, just constant reboot.

Since that is an nForce 630i, do you have the latest BIOS for that? Also, have you asked around at any ABit forums as well to see if anyone else with that mobo is having issues?

Thank you, I haven't found any abit forum that have information on that issue. Yes, I did flashed the bios with the latest available version from Abit but no help. I will keep poking around and update if I find any work around for it.

Have you tried an alternate HD? It could be your HD in fact that is playing havoc with the system....

I'd also run Memtest from the DVD to check your RAM....

Yes, I replaced the drive with a brand new drive just to test it out and has the same problem. As far as the RAM, I haven't able to replace it yet but it checked out ok with Memtest.
One interesting note I found online that the N73HD might have problem with the 45nm CPU. However, the same setup is working perfectly with XP and Vista to I am kind of leaning away for the CPU & Mainboard compatible issue.
I will play around with it some more and let you know if I find anything else.

Install with only 1 stick of RAM _ this was a *major* problem with installing 64bit Vista and nForce 7 boards for some people (although I hit a CPU wall in terms of my OC, I never had the install problem with anything I threw at this rig).

I tried different RAMs both 1 stick and dual sticks will have the same problem. After write the registry and starting service screen the PC reboot and go into reboot cycle. Going to try the 64bit version to see I get the same error.

I tried the 64 bit version, it does the same thing. So, the RAM(s) are new tested RAM, hard drive is new. The only thing the same is the CPU, Mainboard and DVD drive. Nothing else is plugged into the PC. I guess, I will have to wait for Abit to come out with the new bios fix for this board.

1. Try switching graphics cards (use a different vendor temporarily) until you can get to the desktop
2. Try switching the storage mode to IDE in BIOS instead (temporarily) to see if it'll even install okay.

Hello IMAPC,
I do not have extra graphic card. This is the built-in graphic card for the NVIDIA chip. I will try to change the hard drive mode, but this is the SATA and there is only 1 setting.

Hi, first post here, but I am trying to solve this same problem. I have the I-N73HD motherboard, and get the same reboot, in exactly the same spot described by hughng.
