Window 7 Build 6956 Problem.Need help.

Hello guyz..im new here..i have problem with my HDD in Win 7.
Which is while in Win Vista i have C:\ and D:\ directory.But after i format to
Win 7 the D:\ is gone.i only have C:\.can someone fix this?..its kin of hide or something..please help me..rely appreciate it.

I have the same thing:
C: = Windows Vista
D: = Personal stuff, downloads, etc.
G: = Windows 7

When in Vista, I see all those drives. In Windows 7 however, I don't see the C: drive with Vista. Instead, the G: drive becomes the C: drive.

I couldn't really be bothered though, and I don't know a fix for it either...

Hi there

Put your windows cd in your drive and reboot, and then do a start up repair. That should sort it.

are u sure?..i have do clean format of win7 2x becoz of this problem..but still my D:\ dir is missing..

Hi dota,

From 7

Start, right click on computer, Manage, Disc Management.

You should see your drive all you have to do is to assign it a drive letter
by right click.

It probably happens to stop accidental erasure or your Vista drive and seems to be normal. I have even gone so far as to hide my 7, C:\ drive while I am in Vista so that all my other partitions have the same drive letters when viewed from both OS's
