Windows 7 RC1 and wireless router authentication issues

I have done a clean dual boot install of my machine with Vista & Win 7 RC.

Windows Vista boots up fine and successfully connects to my wireless router and gets internet connectivity.
Windows 7 boots up fine but cannot authenticate to the router. When it prompts, I enter in the password but it just continuously prompts. It's the same password as I used in Windows Vista (obviously).

I've reset the router, tried different drivers for my Edimax wireless network card but nothing seems to help.

I see a lot of people with similar wireless networking issues everywhere so hopefully this will be fixed in short order but if anyone out there has some helpful hints or a solution that would be great!

It is frustrating when they concentrate on the bugs of the beta version, fix those bugs and then break things that weren't even broken in the first place :S

i had this problem when i installed 7 on my mrs laptop i use static ip's on all the computers in the house and a wpa password to protect the network and i found the answer so if you are using a static ip this might help goto control panel/networkand sharing. and on the left hand side there is a link "change adapter settings" right click on your wireless adapter and select properties in the window highlight "internet protocol version 4" and hit properties fill in all ur static ip details as you would normally do and once done hit advanced and the "wins" tab at the bottom "enable net bios over tcp/ip" ok everthing and this time when u enter your pass it should work ok,well thats what cured the problem on 2 laptops using wireless i had, none of them have had any drops in connection and start straight away when booted hope it helps.

i have the DHCP server turned of in my router settings and have assigned each computer a static ip,and when i installed 7100 on an old acer 3660 i had the problem of the pass not working and i was stumped so i stumbled on it by accident after checking i had entered all the ip and gateway and dns servers correctly i switched the setting in the advanced tab and when i entered the pass again it worked fine,so just to check it i installed 7 on my mrs newer acer 5920 and the same problem altered the setting again and they both been running fine for about a week now.:D

I believe it's basically just gone nuts at that point and is trying to authenticate with a computer account to the router which of course it can't, kind of like windows is trying to resolve the issue of not being able to authenticate the wireless connection's password.
