Perahps I've been a NW fan far to long and know their style but, I never had any problems understanding their lyrics personally.
Maybe just me, as I know a few say they are to understand.

It's no joke..through that video I (a hard core Pink Floyd Fan) came to like Nightwish and Tarja's amazing voice. So I went and got most of their albums.
As for the understanding part...try italian operas. They are hard to understand as well. It just comes "with the territory" with this kind of singing. And even if it's not as bad as the video producers make it look..there is lots of room for interpretation

I really love their older stuff, when Tarja was still with them.
I like all of their songs, but two of my favorites are "Beauty of the Beast" from Century Child and "Ghost Love Score' from Once

Both are just Epic

Honestly, Dude until she sings Wish upon a star, I don't understand a single word...if you 'd ask me it could as well be Kisuaheli I just wonder what the new album will be like.
But I'm going off topic here.

My favorite misheard lyrics is a Sean Paul song.. something with "Ant ticks" instead of "antics" I don't remember the song name though, it is pretty epic

"Blinded by the Light" by Manfred Mann's Earth Band has a lyric that sounds like"wrapped up like a douche" that's actually "revved up like a deuce" referring to a 1932 Ford Roadster Hot Rod which is often just called a deuce.
