Mine is brought down by the GPU, but that's to be expected. I'm waiting for Nvidia to release the 300 series so I can see some apples to apples comparisons between it and AMD's 5xxx series.

The CPU sub-score kind of surprised me, as it's a core i7 975 OC'd to 4 GHz. Not too much of a difference, if any at all, from folks running 920s at lower clock speeds.

i would have thought you would have got a 7.9 on your cpu and ram
iam geting the same score as you on a 920 oc to 3.6 and only 6 gig of ram

I'm running two Intel MLC 160GB drives in a RAID 0 using a 3ware 9550SX controller and I still didn't hit 7.9...I got a 7.8

CPU I have Dual Xeon Quad-Core's at 3GHz and that gave me 7.7

RAM I have 16 GB of DDR-2 800 and that gave me 7.7 which means speed is equally important to capacity b/c DDR-2 800 isn't blazing by todays standards

Video is nothing special using a 8800GTS 512 - 6.9 score but someone posted a lower score with a 260 which is weird, that is a better card.

If you really care about the score, it's about going to an SSD drive over something like size.

This is with an Intel X-25M G2 (which I have yet to update to the latest firmware):

I read somewhere 5.9 is highest for Primary Hard Disk.

I've tried Vista and 7 on several different hard drives' (laptop and dekstop) and found the same 5.9 score.

Just remember, these scores can be changed via registry so don't trust anyone's post.

:)

See, except for the SSD (and that is not entirely ruled out yet) I will have a Core i7 machine with 8 (more than likely 12) GB onboard and already have dual GTX 260s - but the 260s show a very very low score for desktop applications. They are definitely Dx 10 cards and WDDM 1.1 compatible - but even with the WDDM 1.1 drivers I still only got a 6.4.

Ridiculous it seems.

That score for your dual 260's seems a little strange. I'm running dual 9800gt's and I am getting 7.2, I would have expected much better those cards.

I really don't care about the scores but the difference between the gaming and desktop I found interesting. I would have thought they'd be in reverse given the intensity of graphics in games.

Hi there i just finished building my first computer.
Im running windows 7 ultimate.
My cpu (intel Q9400 @2.667ghz) - 7.2
My G.skill ram (2 x 1 gb @ 1066mhz) - 5.5
MY graphics card (8800GT @ stock) - got 6.8 in both desktop performance and gaming.
and my HDD (fujitsu 1gb 7200rpm) - 4.4..
anyways in which i could get my score higher??. Even though im verry happy with my cpu score and surprised at my 8800GT it got a higher scre or equal to a friends GTX260 which was weird.

Beaten the 5.9 Hard Disk Score....

Hi forum,

Dusted off my old gaming rig last night and thought i'd shear my Windows 7 score with you.

Processor - Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 @ 3.5GHz CPU - 7.3
Memory - 4.00 GB OCZ DDR2 PC2-9600 Flex EX Series @ 1100MHz -7.3
Graphics - 3x 8800 GTX @ Ultra Settings - 7.6
Gaming Graphics - 2559MB Total Available Graphics Memory - 7.6
Primary Hard Disk - 6x WD Raptor 36GB @ Raid 0 [207GB Total] - 6.5

I might play around and over-clock alittle more as the setup above is a 24 hour usage system setup, I remember in my bench marking days i was hitting 4.0GHz+ with this processor.

Anyway.....

live on the 8800 GTX's still kicking arse, and to think i brought these cards ruffly 3 years ago!

More RAM would boost your memory score. A better hard drive would boost your disk score (for instance a Western Digital 1TB Black Caviar). Other than those you're doing fine.
