virtual disk could not be attached to virtual machine
I have enabled virtualization in my BIOS. I have downloaded and installed windows virtual PC and then as instructed downloaded and tried to install windows XP mode. However XP mode will not install properly and i get this message "virtual hard disk could not be attached to the virtual machine. Please check the values provided and try again". I have uninstalled XP mode many times an d each time i try to re install i get same message. Can anyone help?
you might need to unnistall....
can you unnistall the update
and reinstall the VPC beta and XPM and restart?
if not you might need to change some values...

for the suggestions, however i had become impatient as i had to run some XP apps asap. I therefore did a dual boot of Win 7 and XP for time being to allow me to run my apps. I will try you ideas soon.
What Acer laptop?
Have you contacted Acer technical support and / or their forums to see if there is a BIOS update allowing access to change settings for enabling Virtualization?
What hardware is on the laptop?

option is hidden in the BIOS because of there
marketing concept and they will not release a
BIOS with the feature enabled. .
