when you post about an offer like above, you should also post a WARNING about McAfee.....

I installed it. So far so good.

the only drawback for me was i had just over two months left of a three month macafee 2010 trial, so i dl'd and installed and oops its an older software ,actually it is the one i get free from BT, macafee anti virus plus
and i dont use the free one from BT as i found it slow .
So i now have Norton2011 90 day trial, see how that goes i will then try MSE and see what the fuss is about,
Ah well at least i finally got round to signing up for face book

I had no problems with it, except its RAM usage.

At idle: around 85 MB.
During quick scan: around 150 MB.

Now that's huge. My PC is without an anti virus ATM, thinking which to install. :shock:

If you've already got a clean system then an AV with a high blocking rate is what you need to keep your system clean. All the bells and whistles are worthless.

its the older version tews , macafee 2010 is very quick, i was happy with it until i installed the older version by mistake .
Norton 2011 is impressive though!

Yep, that is huge. And in addition it can and will cause BSOD's on some Win 7 systems. I hope you used the McAfee uninstall tool. If not, there are still traces of it all over your system.

Don't forget to right-click the MCPR.exe and run as administrator.

Hi there
The ONLY reason people like Mcafee are STILL in business is that this type of Software is LOVED by corporate execs / CEO's.

Just look at the next time you do a business trip paid for by your employer - I'm 100 % certain you could probably do the SAME trip for HALF the price if you booked it yourself.

Often the same with Corporate Software -- expensive cludgy stuff that you wouldn't DREAM of installing on your OWN machines.

These days for HOME computers MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials) is actually all you need and is FREE.

I've posted elsewhere but will say again for NON CORPORATE type of AV software -- PAID FOR AV software is going the way of the DODO and I doubt if too many of these companies will still be around for too much longer.
