I think it good scores that you get. I tried the IRST driver just installing it when i got home and there was no difference and also when i tested in AS SSD Bench i didnt use the right driver, it still used the marvell driver. As i didnt know how och even if i could switch to the other driver i left it alone and just uninstalled the IRST driver and everything whent back to normal.
Any ides why i didnt work for me?
Has anyone any ides why i didnt work for me to install IRST or how i change to that driver when its installed so the system doesnt use the Marvell drivers?
Please help....
Msahci is NOT a Marvell driver. That's the stock Microsoft driver. Why would you even load a Marvell driver in the first place?
Did you re-boot after the driver update?
hi,
i got my revodrive to work...
not so easy...but it is faaaaast!

Yes i did a reboot after i installed the driver.
I´m new to this so i just thought that i should install the Marvell driver to get it to work propely.
Do you mean that i didnt have to do that after a clean install of OS and just install IRST instead? Would it then use that driver instead?
NORMALLY, you would use the Marvell driver for one of the Marvell SATA controller(s) on a motherboard. Your board has the Intel controller, specifically the ICH10R. I don't think installing the Marvell driver did any harm since it has no hardware to run and Windows will just park it. It will take up space though.
As far as Intel RST not running, you may have downloaded and installed the wrong version for your board. The X58 series chipset uses a different driver than the current X6 series that current boards use. Windows won't run it either if it can't find the hardware.
This is the INF file. It's not necessary to run but it lets Windows report your hardware correctly.

This is the Intel RST driver package you should have loaded.

I don't know where your info came from but this is direct from ASUS.

Okay Hap. I was just browsing one of the vendor specs for the board. It only specified the ICH10R. I wasn't aware that it had both. Sorry. If that's the case, perhaps the OP has the drive plugged into the wrong port.
But hey, that's why you experts are here. Right? :)
Addendum: But.... I would use the Intel ports anyway.
